at the same time he's had to deal with media reports that the team is not happy with him running out of bounce that he's not in their long term future plans. dude has been a boss this year.

Man the threads bashing him for running out of bounds was comedy. Murray, dez, lee, Tyron, Frederick. Forget everyone else

Oh well. It is what it is. I don't know why any of us, including myself, are ever shocked when we stop running the ball. It's our MO. Happens routinely with this team.

It's not shocking in the least.

And the best part is, well for some people anyway, is that we'll have another year of it next year because I highly doubt that the clowns on our coaching staff are going anywhere.

i really could feel his anger when i saw that.

At that point we all felt the same way. Great camera work to catch this reaction. It's got to be hard reviewing film today for Murray. Not entirely sure I could sit there without saying something that would get me in trouble.

It's like JG and staff went into halftime and made a list on how to close out and win this game, then did the complete opposite. So many things had to go wrong for this team to lose the game with that kind of lead at halftime. You gotta hand it to Garrett though, he nailed it.

You know there are coaches out there that use Cowboy game tape, to teach their coaching staff on things not to do.

Didn't he drop an easy catch which would have kept the clock running and the ball moving? Not saying anything except that bad losses are on an entire team, there are no heroes, there are no free-passes (Except of course Dan Bailey) but you win as a team and lose as a team, at least that is if they want to win the division. Now more than ever this team needs to be united.

I like DM more and more every week, and I feel for him after how he's been treated by the organization. Seems like a classy guy and a team player. I'd have trouble even showing up to practice and looking Romo/JG/etc. in the eye this week. It's a disgrace how we treat our run game.

Is anyone else wondering why the passionate on-field displays are coming from the offensive players and not the defensive players? Makes me wonder about the character of the defensive players not named Lee.

However normally the ginger will get raked over the coals and move on to the next game where they run the ball too much...they don't even do that any more.

Can you give ONE example of this ever happening? I bet you can't.

Garrett may be smart, but he's not football smart. He doesn't seem to play the odds the way a football-smart gambler like Parcells did. Parcells would quantify aspects of the game -- negative yardage, field position, time remaining -- and come up with what the odds said gave him the best chance of winning. That old "bus driver" quote of his meant he wanted a good game-managing QB on the field too -- smart enough to understand the exact situation and do the thing that the odds said gave the best chances. In the short run, you might lose. In the course of a 16-game season, the odds win out.

Too often, Garrett outsmarts himself and just stubbornly refuses to stick to fundamentals that win games. He's the Wile E. Coyote of head coaches, constantly pulling the wrong play from his Acme-issued playbook..

It look like he's yelling, "Why!?" or "What!?"...

Good question...

He had the same reaction when Romo threw the interception against Denver. He ran to the sidelines with his arms up in the air saying... "I was wide open!!"

Jimmy Johnson would say that when he coached the Cowboys, he'd get a decent size lead & them workhorse the hell out of Emmitt & eat up that clock. One would think, given he played under Johnson, that Garrett would understand this concept as well.

Where are all those Cowboys fans who have been begging Garrett and Co. to let Romo pass more?

You and almost every other Cowboys fan. Sigh.

I noted in the game thread that I sensed us abandoning the run midway through the second quarter and sure enough, we did that for the rest of the game. It was amazing to me to watch and see that we transitioned from a great balanced attacked led by the run only to diminish to pass pass pass one dimensional offense. I was in the bar and everybody was seeing the same thing. Even Commander and Eagle fans I was with were amazed at what our offense was doing.

Murray says visit to children’s hospitals helps reduce his anger over loss
Murray said signing autographs at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children helped him put football in perspective.

“You think about yesterday and you are mad about that,” Murray said, “and then as soon as you step (in) here, you totally forget about it. It’s the last thing that crosses your mind. Just knowing what these kids are going through on a daily basis, how much fight they have, just makes you look up to them.”

Asked if he was calmer this morning, Murray said, “I’m just focused on being here with the kids and trying to help them out as much as I can.”

Asked if it was tough for him to get out of bed Monday morning, Murray said, “Like I said, once I knew we were coming here, it just touched my heart and I’m always willing to do this. Such a blessing and I cherish these types of moments just to put a smile on these types of kids faces. This is something we will never forget and it’s something we will never forget as players.”

Love him even more...

Frickin Garrett - I remember afterthe bears game where he did the same thing. And in his press conferance he said something to the effect of "Yeah we got away from the run a bit. In hindsight we should have run it a bit more. We'll look at the tape and get that cleaned up moving forward" How, could you not remember that and several other weeks that you have done the same ****. I said last night he should be fired immediately and I stand by that. Callahan, him and Romo all deserve blame but the head coacxh has final say as its called in - it is inexcuseable - guess ya didn't get that cleaned up afterall. If I was an offensive player, I would start a mutiny !
