Gotta resign Carr, in my opinion, he may be the biggest priority.

Letting Carr and Mo both walk leaves you Brown, Scandrick and an assortment of average. Carr shouldn't be that expensive and you can count on him.

Is he perfect? No....but this team has a difficult time with corners. He is the second best corner we have had since Deion Sanders. I don't want to go back to the days of Pete Hunter and Mario Edwards. We have some premier receivers in this division and Carr has done a solid job considering the lack of pass rush.

Agree, and I would take Carr over Mo.....if for any other reason, health....
Carr has stayed healthy, and is more solid than fans want to give credit for. They don't like him, because Jerry overpaid him in the eyes of the fans. They expect a pick every time the ball comes his way.
Actually I would take both back on cap friendly deals, and can release them without much of a cap hit if needed. But still draft a CB if BPA.

In 5 years he has 7 interceptions and was paid a kings ransom. That's why he is unliked.

Overall I agree with the approach you suggest. It makes the most sense and doesn't leave us with our shorts down at CB. The Cowboys have to draft a CB early and possibly late if no mid level FA CB isn't signed.

I'm not looking for 'rooster fries' here...

resign Carr, Claiborne, Church, Wilcox, and draft a top 3 round cornerback and safety. Around that, take a defensive end and defensive tackle, in free agency or the top pick in the draft.

Don't downgrade Jason Witten as a backdoor for promoting 'your boy.'

No witten is great at that option route. OJ Howard isn't my pet cat I've just seen him play some outstanding ball. Chances are he goes top 10-15 picks without any red flags anyway. I know a lot here complain about taking TE high because we still have witten but come on it's time to plan for the future which isn't any TE we have on the roster.
