MVP voting: Romo, Murray tie for third

How many games do you think Houston wins without him? Probably only 6 or 7 honestly.

That argument is a losing one. Romo goes down and how many less games do the Cowboys win? Are the Packers an 8-8 team without Rodgers? The problem is in the realm of value there is no other position on the field that is as important as QB is.

Oh it is, but if we're going to use this exact definition of MVP, then it is ALWAYS Aaron Rodgers. He is the best QB in the game surrounded by the least talent. The Packers are terrible without him.

If we're arguing "Who is the most valuable player on their team?", Romo and Murray remove themselves from the race.

He's definitely the defensive MVP, if they ever had one. In today's NFL MVP is just another offensive award, that's the way it will be as long as QBs throw the ball 40 times a game.

I think the NFL should have two MVPs, just like they have two player of the year awards.

And to answer your question, as great as the year Watt had, he was still probably only worth 2-3 wins to his team. Defensive players just don't touch the ball as many times as the QB is what it boils down to.

I still think it's incredibly impressive to have two players in the top 4 MVP voting.

Be aggressive this off-season, fix a few holes on defense, and Romo will a legitimate MVP candidate next year.

If that's the case, Aaron Rodgers wins hands down every year, frankly. I love Tony Romo, but the Packers are horrible without Rodgers at the helm.

I'm sure Rodgers will win many more MVPs, he's a helluva QB and I think will go down as the greatest of all time (or at least top 3). He just needs to stay healthy, because he's obviously head and shoulders above the next best QB.

Thank you. It's nice to have a good discussion about football without someone calling out someone else's fandom.

Ultimately, none of this matters, as none or the teams we're arguing over are in the Super Bowl. :(

He is extremely injury prone. He's hurt every season.

I find it difficult to find fault with anybody who thinks JJ Watt is the best defensive player in the NFL, and therefore a top NFL MVP candidate.

Wow i said he should have won dpoy. I just felt he didn't deserve mvp. Evidently you have difficulty understanding this. The guy wasn't worthy in my opinion. Get over it.

no one who has a massively, horrible losing record when the game is within 1 score in the 4th quarter is anywhere CLOSE to top 3 all time. NO WHERE.

Shoot, the only one with a worse record last I checked is cam newton. Rodgers is THAT bad.

He's a scared, pansy stat padder.

Okay, you're just not watching. He will be the greatest ever at the end of his career barring injury.

I say this and for most of my time here I spent it posting against Romo, but after the Cardinals game anyone who names someone other than Romo as MVP is either delusional, blind, hater, or plain stupid

Well I guess it's a good thing that your opinion is meaningless.
