Romo said yesterday that ball security was what makes a difference. If you can avoid giving the other team an advantage by making a mistake and a turnover, then your ability to win increases. Not rocket surgery, to be sure. But the kid gets it now. He is the eye of the storm for this team.
Now you have firebrands like Brookings that inspire the defense.
Ware's heroics paves the path for the defenders and shows them selling out for the common cause will get them over the hump.
But Romo's play transcends both sides of the ball. His elevation of his game and keeping the pressure on the other offense to keep up is what effects every player on the team.
The way Romo has conducted himself during the games over the past six weeks is a remarkable departure from his past. He is now the leader he needs to be and he has taken his game to a whole new place. And the team will follow.
I don't know how this will turn out for Dallas this year.
One of the remarks made about some of the play-off teams - Green Bay, Steelers - is people don't want to play them.
There are eleven teams that don't want any part of Romo. He has that thousand yard stare. He is truly seeing beyond and is orchestrating the entire team from his position and the plays he makes.
I have been waiting for this guy to get to this point. His shoulders are now broad enough to carry this team, like a Favre, or Manning.
The destiny of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2009 play-offs is resting on number 9.
Reach out for your destiny, Tony. History is yours for the taking.
