I like this trade a LOT. I'm a huge Dak guy. But I'm also an NFL guy and a Cowboys guy, and I believe if Wilson can't win a Super Bowl after getting paid, Dak probably isn't gonna win one here either. (anytime soon at least) So it's better to get Wilson at the tail end of his contract and see what he can do, and then we can decide to sign him again or draft a new QB.

Seahawks are being like the Rams. They're being smart not to fall in love with one guy. Packers fans would rather give up a Super Bowl than to part with Rodgers, and lots of Pittsburgh fans I've spoke to are way too attached to Ben than to give him up, but Seahawks fans might actually be willing to part with Wilson for some draft picks to build up that defense, though I think they're gonna get more than 2 first rounders. They'll probably get one more 1st rounder.

I'm also gonna cheer Dak on in Vegas. It's closer to where I live, and I can be a fan of more than the Cowboys, and I think his best chance to win a Super Bowl is with a rising team like Las Vegas. The Gruden will eventually get it going and I think they're one of those teams set for a monster 2021 year. They could be the Tampa Bay of 2021, and the reason they didn't make the playoffs this year was because Carr hurt down with turnovers and bad play in the last stretch of the year. They'll look to rectify that next year by moving on from him.

You do know Wilson carries one of the most expensive contracts, right?

Plus, why in the hell would we give up both Dak and our 1st round #10th overall pick?

This is the kind of stuff that makes one go nuts!!!

Not a damn chance I wouldn’t give up more than a head to head swap actually if the cowboys are dead set on getting a back up plan ( which I don’t believe they are) draft a qb ( Mac Jones or trade up) and resign Dalton cheap

Wilson is a good qb but he puts you in same boat Dak does. You might as well pay dak

False. Any team acquiring Wilson would be paying him 19m,24m, and 27m over the next 3 years because of prorated signing bonus.

I mean as far as value trades go this is probably closer to being actual value but it still has the problem that Dallas is a team that is very devoid of talent due to 3-4 disastrous drafts in a row. They are not in win now mode but if you give up multiple 1s then you basically might as well be.

If you are right about Wilson's contract cost, it still makes no sense to trade Dak AND our #10 overall draft pick for a 33 year old QB. THAT'S NUTS! (Not blaming you. Talking about the OP).

Seattle needs that kind of compensation to move him though because they had 39 million in dead money from trading him (the 3 years 13 million of prorated bonus). Hence why I do not really imagine its a good trade for either team. NO is probably a MUCH better fit for going all in.

I'm just saying to consider it. I'll be ok with Dak or Wilson here. Whoever we have, I'll be feeling good about next year. I do think Wilson is gonna end up costing quite a sum less tho - like that above guy says, and he's on a shorter deal. Dak could potentially gobble up a lot and be harder to move on from if for some reason he does a Kaepernick or something (I don't expect that), but he is younger and I am pretty excited about his offense next year. Could potentially be a historical record setting offense.

And, there's also the fact that for Dak fans like myself, I'd like to see him win a Super Bowl and I think he has a much better chance with Mark Davis and Jon Gruden than Jerry Jones and Mike McCarthy.

I wish people would stop talking about trades.

Dak is due to be a FA, so wont belong to anyone i.e. cant be traded.

Nobody is taking on a $37m x 1 year deal for a QB coming off serious injury who cant pass a physical. If Dallas tags him, we're stuck with the 37m bill.

IMO any deal regarding Wilson would need to have a high draft pick going back(Jets/Miami/Carolina) in order for Seattle to rebuild with a top prospect QB while surviving that dead cap hit from Wilsons deal.

Seattle can't eat that dead cap and then take Carr's contract.

I think Wilson is just giving the F.O. a warning message this year and wants to be better protected in 2021.

While I appreciate the suggestion, I personally would just do a straight up trade with the Raiders:

    Raiders Receive

    QB Dak Prescott

    Cowboys Receive

    QB Derek Carr
    S Jonathan Abram
    2021 1st round pick (#17 overall)

Dallas has a more affordable QB that is fully capable of leading the offense while also getting a young FS to partner with Wilson to help the secondary. With their #10 overall pick Dallas could grab CB Caleb Farley and with the Raiders #17 pick they could grab CB Jaycee Horn. They will have completely transformed their secondary tio a much improved level with the starting threesome of cornerbacks being Diggs, Farley, and Horn with Abram and Wilson manning the safety positions.

Dak has final say on all of these sign and trade options. I simply don't see him agreeing to any of them. He plays this year for $37 million and then he truly holds all of the cards. If he is not signing a long term deal in Dallas he sure isn't going to sign to play one season with any other team let alone Las Vegas to play for Gruden.

    The options are as follows:

Dallas re-signs Dak to a new deal
Dallas assigns the exclusive franchise tag to Dak and Dak can either sign it and play for $37.7 M or refuse to sign it and be forced to not play in 2021
Dallas assigns the non-exclusive tag to Dak and Dak either finds a deal with another team which Dallas can match or not (if not Dallas receives draft picks in return or Dallas can work out a trade with the team Dak signed with)

So basically there are 3 options: Dak plays in Dallas on new deal/franchise tag, Dak signs with/traded to a new team, Dak sits out 2021. That's it.

Insanity. Our passing offense isn't the problem. It's Zeke being consistent in the run game, that helps the offense. And we need all draft ammo for the D.

This is correct. I am saying that signing and trading Dak is not an option because Dak ultimately has to agree to sign the franchise tag which I don't think he will if he knows he will be traded. Therefore, the options you present are all that are left.

I've seen you bash Dak endlessly on this forum. Seems like you agree he's much better than middle-of-the-pack #16 or #17 overall QB Carr. We get a potentially elite D-back and a 1st round draft pick for the guy you don't like.

I think any deal involving Dak and 2021 draft picks is not going to happen cause like you said he probably won't sign the tag until closer to the Franchise tag multi-year deadline months from now. Or who knows maybe it won't drag out that long this time.
But we have a stubborn F.O. who thinks they are clever with the cap and we have an agent trying to cash in a huge deal.
