I'd like to post a scenario of how I feel the remainder of the Cowboys season will go...

They will beat the Rams next week in very underwhelming fashion and then lose to San Diego putting them at a mediocre 2-2. Over the next 5 games, they will go 2-3, including a massacre at the hands of Denver.

At that point, they're 4-5 and the butt of ESPN and every other sports outlet's criticism. Week 10 comes along against a surging Saints team, a game that no one gives them a chance in, and they beat the Saints resulting in more "the Cowboys are for real" talk among the same analysts who wrote them off a week ago. They build off of the Saints victory with two more victories against the Giants, and the Raiders on Thanksgiving (which will be decided on a last second field goal).

Cowboys are now 7-5 and right at the top of the NFC East.

The Cowboys are on a roll, they just beat a very good Saints team and put two gritty victories together against the Giants and Raiders. Everyone says that this is finally the year that the Cowboys live up to their potential (just like last year, and the year before).

Next up are the Bears, Packers and Commanders for weeks 14, 15, and 16. The Cowboys, with their new found confidence and momentum, naturally go on to lose to the Bears and Packers. They narrowly escape a Commanders team in week 16, placing them at 8-7 in a "win and they're in" scenario for week 17 against Philly (who also can claim a playoff spot with a win)

Philly wins the game in either two ways; a repeat of the 44-6 whopping that they gave Dallas in 2008, or on a Desean Jackson bomb towards the end of the 4th quarter where Dallas' defense can't make a stop...

The Eagles are in the playoffs, Dallas is once again 8-8 and watching the playoffs from their couch; ripping out the hearts of Dallas fans everywhere...

We've all seen this before... Deja vu.

I hope I'm wrong... but is there anything about this team that leads you to believe otherwise?

If the offense plays like it has played for 2 weeks, there is no way they can win 8 games. I can't see them beating the Rams. I see 5-11 or 6-10. With the only wins being Skins twice as they are actually worse than us, Vikings in Dallas, Raiders on Thanksgiving and they maybe steal one with Philly. IF They turn the offense loose and that is a big if, maybe then 8 is realistic.

Sometimes, yes sometimes it takes the offenses a while to get going. Especially with moving parts in the offensive line. 2 games is not enough time. Chill

Who knows what will happen. I don't have the confidence that they'll get to 9 wins, but that's just me.

One thing you do have going for you with your prediction though. If the last TWO seasons are any indication, you certainly have history on your side.

Did you steal this prediction from skip Bayless or Steven A Smith? You cannot predict the season outcome after two games unless your the Browns and decide to trade your franchise running back. Who knows what kind of injuries will hit teams in the division or conference? Look at the broncos who just lost Ryan clady for the season, let's see how that affects them. RG3, Vick, and arguably Tony are injury risks that could have big implications on the division winner, which is all we need to get into the dance and have a chance, home field is arguably useless for us and hasn't been needed for the last couple champs...Momentum and chemistry will also change throughout the year, so why are we deciding the fate of a team with three new offensive line starters, new offensive play caller, and new defensive scheme and coordinator after only 2 games. Watch it week by week and enjoy the ride, we will lose games, there is talent everywhere in the NFL, let's just hope we are in the picture for division champion again and we get over the hump with our changes and a little better luck this year with the injury bug. But if you enjoy just saying same ole Cowboys at the beginning of every season, you have that right.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves.... Too early to tell anything really, teams are still working out kinks!

Kinks? I consider the Patriots working out kinks. The Cowboys don't even have an effective offensive attack based on what we've seen. 3rd and 10 and we call a 1 yard slant? Not throwing the ball past the 1st down marker? It's the same offense as before; playing not to lose.

Conservative is one thing, but not taking ANY chances is what will kill this team.

Gee how original. Let me "predict" what happened last season and carry it over because I'm incapable of any understanding that things are different.

They are different, you're wrong, and the Cowboys make the playoffs with at least 10 wins.

At least my prediction isn't just a regurgitation of the past.

Call me crazy but I say we dont lose more tyen 4 more games this year. Beating Denver at home will give us the momentum to beat all that gets in our way to number 6. Superbowl Dallas vs. Texans. Dallas 34 Texans 23

I'm glad you're so confident with your prediction, but lets not act like it's original thought. Mediocre team, same core group of players, over hyping our talent...yeah, you're a real trail blazer with your posts...

I predict JG quits after 4 games to become a full time politician. Sean Payton quits the Saints at the same time and becomes the next HC of the Dallas Cowboys.

Then I wake up.
