Akin Ayodele - B+. Parcells even mentioned him as a player who is currently performing at a high level. Second on team with 70 tackles. I believe he can perform at an even higher level if defensive line can pick-up their lack-luster performance.

Kyle Kovier - C+. Most on this board are higher on this player than me. Maybe it was the philly game where he looked like a turn-style. Against NO he looked physically out-matched. I am causiously optimistic he will improve with another off-season of learning Dallas blocking schemes. He looks great at pull-blocking but marginal at pass protection.

Jason Fabini - C+. Hasnt hurt Dallas. Added a new wrinkle to his resume with playing TE on certain offensive sets.

Ryan Hannam - D. On IR.

Terrell Owens - C+. Hasnt been game breaker many expected. Looks somewhat slower and less focused that his super-bowl year with Eagles. Still top 5 producing WR but has many issues and tends bring negative attention in his direction. IMHO Dallas should use the 10 million slotted for TO in 2007 and go in another direction. Wilford was a player Parcells wanted to draft and can be very productive in this offense.

Mike Vanderjagt - F. Complete bust. Currently out of football.

I don't get how a guy on IR even gets a grade. Or how a WR you describe as top 5 gets a C+.

1) Akin (B+) / Next year he should be even better.
2) Owens (B-/ Attitude sucks, dropping balls, running bad routes, but still produces.
3) Columbo (A-) Has shocked me completely.
4) Kosier (C-) Nothing here, move along.
5) Hannam (Incomplete)
6) Fabini (D) was supposed to be the starter
7) Vanderjagt (F) Bad attitude and didn't produce
8) Coleman (F-) Couldn't break the starting lineup, got arrested, then cut
Draft)
1) Carpenter (C+) Hasn't shown anything dominant yet.
2) Fasano (C-) Bad draft choice/ okay blocker/ okay receiver
3) Hatcher (A-) Better than I thought
4) Green (F) 4th rounders can be hit or miss, we missed.
5) Watkins (C+) Not great, not horrible, I want to see those plays they talked about in training camp
The rest are an incompletes to F's.

So in my little world, I have 4 people who are impact players out of all the draft picks and FA signings.

I pretty much agree, except I would rate Carpenter and Fasano either D or F because both have been complete busts up to this point. Hatcher is probably in the B- range at best too....

This offseason could very well turn out to be one of the worst in franchise history.

5) Watkins (C+)

what has Watkins done that warrants a C+?

a C is an average grade, Watkins hasn't been average, much less above average, or slightly above average

I'd give him a D-, not yet at that failing point, I know, I know, he's only a rookie, but a D- grade is more apt than a C+

Did people call Carson Palmer a bust after his 1st season?
Cowboys fans everywhere were calling Aikman a bust as a rookie. Grading a draft pick before the first season is over is crazy. BTW the answer to your question is yes.

4) Kosier (C-) Nothing here, move along
You've got to be kidding me. You simply dismiss Kosier as a guard when the guy has come in here and actually solidified a position for this team. Just cuz he doesn't blow ppl up like Big Larry doesn't mean he sucks. He's a smart player and very good at positioning. Our running game has benefitted from his presence. Just because one can point out a couple of plays where he screwed up doesn't mean he has sucked the entire season. This guy, along with Columbo, has solidified our offensive line if only for a little while. That's all you can ask because an offensive line needs time together and the solid play of Kosier has helped that line get that needed time. We will see a more cohesive unit next season and hopefully into the playoff race simply because of the time Kosier's play has afforded this team.
6) Fabini (D) was supposed to be the starter...
Says who? You? Please. You have no idea that he was supposed to be a starter. We had Pettiti and Columbo, 2 young, green guys. Bill saw a short ceiling w/ Pettiti and didn't know what he had in Columbo. Fabini was a safety net, not a starter. The guy was brought in for competition and we might have the best backup tackle in the league that can play not only the left but the right. Glad you're not making the personnel decisions otherwise we'd never know about the greatness of Marc Columbo.
2) Fasano (C-) Bad draft choice/ okay blocker/ okay receiver
This is the biggest crock of crap on your list. This guy has been one of the most consistent, solid performers on our team and has done so as a rookie. Not only has the guy been a solid blocker (one of the toughest parts of the pro game to pick up) but he has been thrown to in the clutch and performed, i.e. closing out Indy. Fasano has improved at a steady rate and I believe will continue to do so. The Cowboys will have, if they don't already, the best young stable of tight ends in the league.
3) Hatcher (A-) Better than I thought
Whew, glad he got a good call from you. I guess for the simple fact that he outplayed your expectations gives him a solid year. You being the end all, be all of talent evaluators. I'm sure you really had a beat on Hatcher coming out of the powerhouse of producing NFL talent that is Grambling.

Can't wait to get next year's "evaluations" from you.
