From the nerve center of accurate thought and American values as embodied in our Declaration of Insurrection and our Bill of Rights, some food for thought:

No matter what happens in the playoffs, Parcells will return next year.
And he will return with a vengeance. And wiser. With an emphasis on defense (of course) for one final year.

I cannot see this egoist but otherwise football-wise coach giving it up when he is so close -- at least offensively -- to a Super Bowl. Unless he takes over in Indianapolis, San Diego or Chicago (ain't gonna happen) he is not going to a loser team. And he sees his best chance to win a Super Bowl in Dallas. Next year.

In his eyes, all that stands between him and the Super Bowl is a pass rush and two reliable safeties.

My bet is that Jones will spend even bigger time to shore up the defense while cutting some dead wood and unloading some high-priced talent (NOT T.O.).

What do you think, fellow Forumanians?

I think Watkins can be an answer at FS.

Our upgrades may be internal as well. Carpenter could be a possibility with Ayodele at ILB. Watkins as well could be our FS with improvement after a ful offseason.

Yes, the kid needs more playing time.

I think that is reasonable. Although I think that at ILB we'll just take a wait and see approach -- with Carpenter or Burnett getting an extended look there.
