Here's the first for reference (completely unnecessary and unrelated) :D
http://cowboyszone.com/forums/dallascowboys.php?t=254182

I have that feeling that we will trade down regardless unless Cooper or Warmack are there. Sadly. But with the depth available in the 3rd and 4th rounds I might not be opposed to that if we can get one surefire starter somewhere on the Oline with us in the very least talking to FA Olineman.

1(18). Traded to Minnesota. We receive 25, 83, and 155.

1(25). Sylvester Williams DT UNC
He will be our 1T, and our 3T but I think he can be a dominate player like Kevin Williams was for so long at either position. An alternative would be Jesse Williams with our Saban connection.

2(47). We trade down again. To Miami. We get 54 and 111.

2(54). Phillip Thomas S Fresno State
His stock is rising, and there will be a run on Safeties in the late first and second rounds. Will be Church's partner on the back end and be a playmaker for us. Day 1 starter.

3(80). Brian Schwenke C California
Can play C or OG. Will compete and be a solid starter for us.

3(83). Stedman Bailey WR/KR/RB WVU
BP will probably kiss me. He is a great value and may sneak into the end of the 2nd round, but I think the Oline value and run on CB's push him down slightly.

4(111). Stepfan Taylor RB Stanford
Becomes our #2 RB. Can handle the load and is a reliable pass catcher, just can't break out like Murray is always a threat of being.

4(114). Gerald Hodges LB Penn State
Becomes one of our top backup LB's. He, Sims and Albright would make a good backup threesome. ;)

5(151). Nick Kasa TE Colorado (Alternative, David Bass DE Missouri Western State, same as Arkin??)
Our token TE pick of the draft. And one who might make some noise should Witten not be the durable guy he usually is.

5(155). Chris Jones DT Bowling Green
Had 12.5 Sacks this year. Would be a good 3T to train behind Rat and with Marinelli.

6(185). Steve Williams CB Cal (Alternative Rodney Smith WR FSU)
Someone to push Scandrick. A smaller CB who is shifty and plenty quick enough to cover smaller slot receivers like Cruz and Jackson. As long as he doesn't have the holding jersey problems Scandrick currently has.

And that's it. I fully expect to designate Free a June 1st cut and move on from him. From there we'd pickup whoever was still unemployed to compete with Parnell and not be handed the job (pretty please Coach Garrett?) Whether it is Winston or the liquor store clerk, I don't care. I also feel we might sign a project to backup Ware since we have Crawford to be the LE and 3T backup too.

You put effort into this and no comments? Well, I may be a talent evaluating dipstick but I'll throw you my 2 cents.

Since I am a dipstick you should feel good about the fact I'm not a huge fan of Sly or Thomas. Bailey I love. Schwenke I got a bad feeling about and Taylor is nice, but I think RB can be addressed later. I also think LB can be avoided, though Hodges in that spot probably is a great value, so I can't blame you there.

I'll have to look into Chris Jones. Looks intriguing.

Given the picks that you traded into, I really like th eplayers that you too.

Sly Williams has enormous upside and could be a great fit for Dallas on that Dline interior. He will get to grow the first year while being in a rotation.

Phillip Thomas could help right away.

Schwenke could start possibly

Stedman Bailey is one of the best values in the draft, imo...espcially if you can get him in the 4th (vs the 3rd ) :)

Also like Stephan Taylor, though MSU's Bell would be great too.

Your later round guys are solid too. Hodges would have real shot.

Anyway. Nice effort.
I may not have traded back twice like that but given that you did, you found some decent players at realistic spots.

One of these three is who they'd covet IMO; Tavon Austin, Xavier Rhodes or One of the falling DE/DT prospects..

my main issue with this draft is a relative lack of immediate return. i dont see a day 1 starter in the bunch. ratliff, hatcher hold off sly for at least a season imho.

getting only 1 of the top 50 players is also a big nono for me.
we did that last year.

we can sit still and get 2 of the top 50... why trade down twice?

all those extra picks are long shot types or need to grow up.

i think you got solid value per selection but this is far too much like the rw11 draft class. you run away from the top of the draft to stockpile picks and end up with just guys.

Great effort. I'm hoping for a tackle or guard in this draft. Love Bailey hard to say where he'll go. Loove Taylor. Like bell as well but I've seen Taylor run away from defenders all the way to paydirt too many times.
