-I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed that Jon Condo sucks.

-I'm a bit concerned about our running game come the middle of the 3rd quarter and on. We've run the ball very well for the first 3 quarters in each of the first three games, but afterwards the running game gets stymied. Can't tell if it's a run blocking problem or a Julius problem as of yet.

-I hate to rush to judgement, but getting Al Johnson in the second round was a mistake. The guy is a serviceable center, nothing more. Mainly because he gets pushed around too easily.

-Big props to Willie Pile who came in for Keith Davis and did a decent enough job.

-I'd love to see Keith Davis play well at Free Safety, but I see him as nothing more than a great special teams player.

-Give the devil his due, Keyshawn makes plays. He's probably the only possession receiver with 4.8 speed that I've ever seen make plays. My friend Greg, a Skins fan, was making fun of Keyshawn never getting any yards after the catch. I said, "the same could be said for Art Monk" and that quickly shut him up.

-Chris Berman and other experts claim that the Niners looked like the better team which is a bit puzzling since Dallas outgained them by 50 yards, had less penalties, and they were even in turnover ratio.

-This was Ware's worst game out of the three.

-If the future of Spears, Canty, and Ware can't get you excited, you don't know football.

-Through 3 games we have had 9 sacks and have given up 6 sacks. We've also got a +3 turnover margin. OTOH, has 3 sacks and has given up 8 sacks in two games. Plus, they have a -3 turnover margin.

-In the end, a win is a win. Remember, we came off a tough, physical game which Dallas lost in a heartbreaker. The game was also on Monday Night, thus they had a short week before they made a trip cross country. The Niners just got demolished against Philly and usually those teams play much better the next week. Dallas did finish the game on a 28-10 run, so we did dominate for a stretch. I would've like to have seen an easier win, but I'll take it.

He's been terrible from Day 1. For some reason Parcells likes the guy. Dont know why. People can cry and moan about Cortez but Condo has been much worse at his job to this point. He's putting a lot of pressure on Romo to hold on kicks AND on McBriar just to catch the ball. The guy is going to hurt us late in a close game if a change isn't made.

I think the play calling has something to do with Julius' production. Seemed like they got away from some running plays that worked in the first half.

My meaningless thoughts.

Bad

-Al Singleton looks slow and i think Glover is showing his age.

-Julius always looks tired.

-Henry looked lost and not focused.

Good

-Offensive line protected to perfection.

-Glenn and Keyshawn played excellent.

-The d-line rooks look promising.

My guess is that he likes Condo because he costs a lot less and he is much better than Robinson when it comes to getting down the field on coverage. He's actually pretty excellent at that for a long snapper.

I'm betting on that he was good in training camp and preseason and while Robinson was the best in the league, Parcells figured that Condo would suffice and save them a lot of $$$.

Good post as usual, Rich...

One comment on Al Johnson gettting pushed back... I was watching part of the tape today and I realized that he was going up against Isaac Sopoaga. If you remember him from the draft a couple of years ago, he's an unusually strong player even for an NFL lineman. He blew up the benching at the combine, but much more than that, I remember seeing Hawaii play a college game and Sopoaga was immovable even when he was double teamed. It was really impressive.

I guess I'm just pointing out that even though the nosetackle Al was facing wasn't a big name, he was an uncommonly powerful player. Few players Al faces will be that strong.

I remember him too... He set the record in the 225 lifts... Fairly impressive. Seems like Al is always a bit of a liability against 3/4 NTs while AG is a liability in space (4/3). Guess it's good we have them both.

That's a really good observation Lab. I think you and I actually talked about Sopoaga, at the Ranch, and we both liked him (as I recall). I think Al needs to get stronger but I agree. Sopoaga is exceptionally strong. There will not be many like him anywhere.

Good point about Sopoaga, but I still feel that when you draft a center or a guard or a tackle in second round, not only is he a guy that should be a starter for the future, but he should wind up being very good.

Al Johnson seems steady, but that's about it.

Singleton took on a DE playing FB and made the tackle to force them to kick the FG on the goal line and picked off a pass, so meaningless is a good description.
