My neighbor is a bank robber ...

I know this does not belong on the main board, but I need to share this with someone, and who better than my Cowboy brothers.

I am in shock, total shock, ... it turns out my neighbor is a professional bank robber. I had no clue.

He robbed 18 banks from San Diego to Maryland in the 80's. (at least that's how many they caught him doing) He was found guilty in 1988 when he was caught robbing a bank in a Ronald Reagan mask.

He spent 15 yrs in prison and has been out on parole a few years. (that's when he moved in 2 houses from me)

Well it seems he was up to his old tricks last Friday up in Pennsylvania. They had an idea of what kind of car he was driving, and that is how they tracked him to a State Park near here on Monday, .. and after a 45 minute stand-off, he shot himself dead. (I'm guessing he couldn't stand the thought of going back to prison)

I had heard about the incident, but didn't know it was him unti last night.

He had a wife, and was raising her kids with her. We talked in the back yards and by his fence several times, as well as out in front of our houses.

It is scary to realize that we simply don't know many of our neighbors do we?

I never knew his real name, we just called him Brud. A nickname he carried because his little sister couldn't say brother.
