Commanders
1(22) Josh Doctson WR TCU
2(53) Su'a Cravens S USC
3(84) Kendall Fuller CB Virginia Tech
5(152) Matt Ioannidis DT Temple
6(187) Nate Sudfeld QB Indiana
7(232) Steven Daniels ILB Boston College
7(242) Keith Marshall RB Georgia

Doctson's their new 1. My favorite wideout of the entire draft. I'm not as big a fan of Cravens as most. I think he's a true tweener who will struggle to find a position in the NFL. Fuller's a 1st round talent who fell due to coming back too early from the knee injury. Ioannidis will be a factor as depth. Sudfeld is an intriguing developmental flyer and the burner Marshall could end up being a steal that late. The Commanders are no longer a laughing matter as they've put together another quality draft class.

Grade: B+

-

Giants
1(10) Eli Apple CB Ohio St.
2(40) Sterling Shepard WR Oklahoma
3(71) Darian Thompson S Boise St.
4(109) B.J. Goodson ILB Clemson
5(149) Paul Perkins RB UCLA
6(184) Jerell Adams TE South Carolina

Apple was a reach but Shepard and Thompson were my favorite Day 2 combo of the draft. Shepard will be a nightmare to deal with opposite Beckham. Thompson has the best ball skills of any safety in this draft. Getting Perkins and Adams late were real bargains. The Giants rebounded nicely after the Apple pick.

Grade: B

-

Cowboys
1(4) Ezekiel Elliott RB Ohio St.
2(34) Jaylon Smith OLB Notre Dame
3(67) Maliek Collins DT Nebraska
4(102) Charles Tapper DE Oklahoma
4(135) Dak Prescott QB Mississippi St.
6(189) Anthony Brown CB Purdue
6(212) Kavon Frazier S Central Michigan
6(216) Darius Jackson RB Eastern Michigan
6(217) Rico Gathers TE Baylor

There's more potential impact at the top here than any other in the division or even the entire league but we must grade conservatively with Smith as nobody knows how he'll come back from the injury. Elliott's the offensive ROY. Collins and Tapper can be good depth. Brown and Frazier have a chance to stick. Jackson was one of the better picks of the 6th round. Gathers is a complete flyer on an athlete. The grade suffers here because of QB. The Cowboys chose not to go after a legit franchise prospect and instead take a waste of space in round 4. Not only is the pick bad but the time that will be wasted on a player who will never be the pocket passer you need is the worst aspect of it. Do they bypass future QB prospects because they already have their guy? Awful.

Grade: C

-

Eagles
1(2) Carson Wentz QB North Dakota St.
3(79) Isaac Seumalo C Oregon St.
5(153) Wendell Smallwood RB West Virginia
5(164) Halapoulivaati Vaitai T TCU
6(196) Blake Countess CB Auburn
7(233) Jalen Mills CB LSU
7(240) Alex McCalister DE Florida
7(251) Joe Walker ILB Oregon

Proof that one player doesn't not make for a quality draft. Even with Wentz guaranteeing a serious of championships I can not call it a quality group when your 7 other picks net so little. You had an opportunity to upgrade the disciples and failed to do it. After Wentz, I thought the Eagles got poor value until the Mills selection in the 7th round. Seumalo is versatile but a round too early. Smallwood is not Brian Westbrook. Countess, McCalister and Walker shouldn't have been drafted.

- Prescott isnt going to factor in as far as looking into future QBs. I bet they got their 2017 QB board started as soon as thy drafted Dak. Dak is basically a 5th rounder and potential long term back up.

- Commanders are slowly becoming a team that can start winning 10 games annually. They have built a solid team, but right now kinda a bridesmaid team. 2 and done in the PO in a good year. But they are getting there.

-Eagles have had several horrible drafts in a row, and I think are destined for a 2 year stretch as the worst team in the NFL. I have no doubt in my mind that pick they gave the Browns will be top 2

- To me the the overall success or failure of our draft is largely dependant on Collins and Tapper. If we hit on both those picks we have s a solid unit up front. Helps us put players in a position to exceed on the back end

Accurate. Disagree on Prescott but agree on our grade. High on potential, low on immediate impact.

Giants and Skins both look to have nailed their drafts. Say what you want about Apple, but getting Shepard, Thompson and Perkins is a great haul.

Skins did well too, but I'd actually flop their grade with the Giants

I agree for the most part, but not as high on the Giants pick of Thompson. He has great ball skills yes, but allows too many receivers get behind him and for me I prefer avoiding the "all or nothing" type safeties. Shepard's pick really bummed me out, our corners on that duo kind of makes me want to puke. I like Apple even if he went early.
We agree on the Commanders, they had the best draft and I think if they have Cravens drop some weight and return to safety he will prove to be a great player.
The Eagles draft comes down to Wentz, if he pans out it's a home run, if not a complete disaster. I was more of a Goff guy myself, but I think Wentz has a chance to be a top twelve QB in the league so for now I would give them a C+.
In the end, Dallas' draft mainly comes down to Jaylon Smith, if comes back to 100% it will be tough to deny the Cowboys who would come away with two of the top ten talents in this draft. For me, the risk was too high to take him where they did, but if they could not trade down than I don't blame them for going his way once the two ends went before them. I loved the Collins, Frazier picks as well and I am a fan of Prescott.

I like Prescott.. I just don't like him for us.

If he is a 8 year backup for us then I'm fine with it but I'm not a fan of him for the short or long term.

I think every team in the East got stronger over the next 3 years expect the Eagles.

They are going to have to be very patient with Wentz because they aren't surrounding him with much

Yeah, I think the Eagles made a tremendous mistake. Kelly dismantled their team, and instead of doing everything they could to repair the team, they went out and did something Kelly would do.

I'd get it if Wentz had shown more in college. But he didn't. And that was against lower competition. Has all the potential in the world. But so does Hackenberg--until the game actually starts and he doesn't see things fast enough

I dont really think its Kelly anymore. They have been making bad personel moves for a while now, going back the the Dream Team assembly. I think Roseman is the real culprit

Don't know what he wanted us to do about the QB position...overpay to move up for lynch? Draft Hackenberg at 34?

I would give a B- probably for what it's worth...same as the Giants. They should be penalized more for that Apple pick.

Agree about the Skins, Giants did themselves no favors other than the OU wide receiver Shepard(he is the real deal). Dez will eat that CB Eli Apple up and down he is a stick comparatively. Thompson I do not think will even start. He is not very fast(4.64 forty) and I do not think you can trust him to stay in his defensive position.
The skins have a plan and they are working themselves into contention each season. Jerry that means you are not keeping up as GM.
Eagles are still going to be a difficult opponent if that Oline comes together and we can provide little pressure on Bradford.

I am happy we did not make the trade for Lynch. Lots of training left for that one.

How would your grade have changed if they had pulled off the trade for Lynch?

I think the Skins and Giants drafted really well except for reaching for Apple.
We were meh and the Eagles had a worse draft than us

I agree with most of this except the hate for the Dak pick.

If you want to downgrade your grade on the ownership / management because they are too dumb to know the difference between a project and an heir so be it, but the pick in and of itself was a good one.

Tebow comps, which I have seen tons of are way off. Tebow was doomed from day 1 by an 8 second release.

What I see is a guy with acceptable measurables who has stepped up and made plays in big moments on a big stage time and again. He does not have NFL accuracy, but he's well worth a late 4th look imo.

Qbs gotta have it between the ears first and foremost and he at least gives some indication that he does.

I used to like Risens post. Unfortunately him and Wentz are soul mates and anything short of Wentz being a Cowboy is a failure. I don't think thier was a glut of franchise QBs ripe for the taking. You can't judge a draft based on who you didn't get that was never even available.
