Defensively, we rank 20th in yards per game. Not so great.
But we rank 7th in points allowed. Pretty darn good.
Why the difference?

We used to give up all those "hidden" yards on special teams. Now opposing offenses are having to drive it down the field. Our defense gives up some yards sometimes, but it's just too difficult for any team to sustain long drives over and over.
I'm a true believer now in how important special teams is. Parcells was right about a lot of things. I believe he always said that special teams was one of the quickest ways to improve a team. And boy, the turnaround on special teams from last year to this year is pretty amazing.
