1)TNew coming back into the game was huge. I thought he would be out with a concussion. To TNew: don't do anything stupid like that punt return again! What a player to come back in!
2)The first/second series the announcers said(?) that both Glenn and Owens were out and Hurd and Crayton were in. That scared me!
3)Indy's first TD was a beautifully ran play. It brought back memories of last Thanksgiving when Keyshaw caught a TD pass on a similar play. The Cowboys need to dust that play off and use Owens like that.
4)Even Vanderjagt's extra points looked sloppy. And Texas Stadium is an easy place to kick FGs. Remember when Septien used to kick that ball "dead, solid, perfect down the middle?" I want a kicker like that again.
5)The Cowboys really need Vanderjagt to come through.
6)This is the second time Fasano has come up with a big catch during the last drive(first vs. Wash). vs. Wash he fell down untouched. He almost gave the ball to the Colts today. Luckily he was touched!!! I think teams will be watching Fasano a little more now. Be careful and don't go to the well too many times.
7)The Cowboys played closer to a true 3-4 today without Ellis. I wonder if the Cowboys would have won with Ellis today? I have my doubts.
8)I wish Burnett were starting. I know he is valuable on the nickle and Sts but...I think Ware on one side and Burnett on the other is our best defense.
9)Does Polite get cut again to make way for Suisham?
10)I didn't hear Rivera's, Gurode's, Kosier's name once during the game. Unsung heroes? I like it that way. Any holding penalties today? Good job OL.
11)Miles Austin reminds me of Saints Colston, a big target who can run. I would like to see him get some time in as WR in place of Crayton at times.
12)Romo was 19 of 23!!! One incompletion was the bad int. I can't even remember the other 3.
13)Where was the flea flicker in the first half. The Cowboys had great field position and the Colts were selling out vs the run. Perfect opportunity imo.
14)A successful screen pass...twice(?) FINALLY!!!

My glaring one is:

We had Peyton confused at times....amazing!

I'm pretty sure the official on the far right side of the field had his hand up marking the spot and had blown the play dead when Fasano flicked the ball forward. Even if the Indy player hadn't touched him, I can't see how the officials could rule against that.

If you look at the replay the ref was clearly whistling the play dead before Fasano drops the ball. I am shocked the ref even bothered reviewing the play.

This year the rule changed and even if the play was blown dead, if there was a fumble then the recovering team can challenge and get the ball at the spot of recovery. To all receivers: Hold the ball! You can celebrate all you want in the locker room.

That is what surprised me also. When the play is whistled dead that should have been it.

Dont you think Fasano would know that he was never touched and would have got up and ran and NOT flicked the ball

Had Fasano not been touched while heading toward the ground, it would HAVE been a fumble and Colts ball at the point of recovery! I do believe the rule changed this year. I highly doubt Fasano felt the touch. He probably just assumed he was down and tossed the ball. Bad play on Fasano's part. He got lucky he was touched. Even if a play is whistled dead, a fumble can be challenged this year.

I agree. Ellis is a good pass rusher, but he is too much of a liability in space. What having Carp out there allows Zimmer to do is change things up, move Ware around, things like that. With Ellis we dont do as much differently because everybody and their mother knows that he will be rushing the passer. This isn't true with Carp.

The only reason Fasano flicked the ball down was the refs had already blown the whistle. The play was over and there was no way that could have been overturned. The new rule is only for fumbles which that clearly was not. It was silly that Dungy challenged it and that the refs actually looked at it. The rule was just not intended for that situation. Though Dungy didn't really have anything to lose since he needed to stop the clock anyway.
