Now your turn to go on record.

How is 9 catchs in 7 games acceptable for a #2 . Thats a pace of 20 in a 16 game season

It's acceptable because

1) We are winning

2) We run the call 68% on first down

3) We average over 5 YPC running on first down.

4) That leaves us with a lot of 3rd and shorts.

5) Not throwing on first and not needing to throw in third leaves us passing a lot less than most teams.

6) This is 90's style Cowboys football with a lot of fans who have grown up watching finesse, spread em out, quasi chuck and duck football.

7) Given we are playing 90's smash mouth football TW has already matched Harpers best year in receptions and TDs in only his 2nd year.

8) Every catch TW gets is a touch taken away from Dez, Witten, or Murray don't get. Who in the entire organization, staff or roster wants that?

9) Is the team better off getting the ball to the top 3 playmakers or guys like TW?

10) In the same style of offense Harper had 35 catches and 4 TD's in his 2nd year.

How about he showes up in big games where the defense focuses on Bryant and takes him out of the game like the Eagles game.

And basically what your saying is that because we have Bryant, Murray and Witten, we shouldn't throw the ball to Williams if he is open. Funny because being the deep threat you may want to get him the ball occasionally

And you do realize that football in the 90's was much different then it is now. You cant compare Harper and Williams numbers. Harper played VS better competition and when the NFL didnt have rules making it glorified Madden Ball and CBs can actually be physical defend the pass

Also Harper averaged well over 20 yards a catch in 1993 and 1994. He was a playmaker and a feared #2.

No one fears Williams

Of course adding a DE isn't a problem. Adding a backup WDE late one this year or at 34 last year is a massive problem.

If the WDE is BPA where is that a problem especially at a hard to fill spot like WDE
Even if not BPA WDE is an important position we could use.

Why would we draft a WDE essentially in the first round two years in a row?

high priority value even if we have Lawrence on board
we're a rotation defensive line team and we're needing pressure
desperately. We're stacked more so at SDE but nobody shakes my martini.
Yes, our secondary could and needs a shot. Also a strong DT prospect would be OK
for sure.

So for me who ever out of those positions group is BPA , I'm game.

Maybe not stacked, but they have many more options on the strong side. Lawrence looks like he can play either side and might be better on the strong side. Mincey has the build of a SDE. All of the other DEs including the guys on IR or the practice squad look best suited to SDE. They need more options at WDE (i.e. elite speed guys).

They also have several options at DT for next season as compared to WDE.

Will never happen. We will not use picks 32 and 34 on WDE's and leave the Selvie's of the world at SDE.

We would not use a first round pick again at WDE with Lawrnwce in board even if Spencer was 25, healthy and getting 8-10 sacks a year.

In watching the All-22, I've seen T. Williams open several many times when the ball didn't go to him.

Striker is an interesting pick. They were interested in Shazier last year.
