It's obvious that Dak has something of a rookie tendency to come into games quite tense until he settles down and plays relaxed. I'm optimistic that he'll gradually improve on his comfort level and settle down with increased experience. He's under no small measure of rookie stress to cope with all of the reads and the reactions that he must process so quickly to facilitate success. Frankly, I'm constantly amazed that he somehow manages to function as productively as he does. I'll bet the opposing defensive coordinators are pretty stunned as well.
Defensively, Marinelli is hindered by the disadvantage of lacking an effective pass rush. As a result, he's forced to conjure up means to disguise his defensive weaknesses and limit offensive penetration by our opponents. His bend but don't break methods are not impressive to behold but still seem to prevent the opposition from hurting us with excessive scoring. It's never a simple task with limited talent at his disposal.
