Well, damn that's a nice lookin stadium.

Better raise the TV a little.

The defense looked tight tonight. The Dline played well, no inside runs, good pursuit and lots of hats to the ball. Even Barbie made a play or two, knifing in to cut off a sweep. Nice.

Sensabaugh looks like a real upgrade at SS. He's appearently got some wheels and brings the wood. Top pick gets a safety! woohoo!

Romo looked crisp, Barber ready to go, and even Felix delivered on his trademark big play every few touches. Roy Williams shut up a few critics, nothing spectacular but he looked a lot more comfortable than the last time I saw him.

Go Cowboys!

One thing that bothers me a little is barber's decision to try and bounce everything to the outside. He is not a fast runner and usually gives up yards when he tries to do this, instead of lowering his shoulder and leaning forward for two or three more yards. He needs to learn he doesn't have the speed to bounce everything outside!

Agreed.

There was one play in the second quarter when I thought he could get a couple of yards if he'd lower his head. Instead, he tried to bounce it outside and lost about three yards.

My observation....was it just me...or did the officials make some terrible spots there in the first half. I swear it looked like they spotted us a half yard short several times.

The punter intentionally tried to hit the TV. Wade in post game press said league minimum is 80 feet and our scoreboard is at 90 feet so we comply with the league rule. Also said that with the trajectory the kick was going, it wouldn't have gone 30 yards.

I thought that too. It looked like he was trying to hit it.

McBriar boomed several kicks and didn't hit it.

there were a couple bad spots in there. But I also didn't think roy williams should have gotten that flag in the endzone. Seemed like pretty good defense to me.

Barber is such a great catcher. Maybe too good for his own good. There are passes that he should be dropping, cause as soon as he catches it, he gets tackled for a loss.

I think you are correct. There were a couple of bad spots, at least one of which cost us a first down. If I recall correctly, we went for it on 4th and made it anyways, but still...
Not complaining over a preseason game, though, it's preseason for the zebras too.

I screamed at the TV during that play. It was a 1st down play, and he had 2 yards, and if he just went north and south and lowered his head he gets another 1 or 2 yards, leaving us with 2nd and would be 6. Instead he tries to bounce and its 2nd and 11.

We end up having a 3rd and 6 and call a draw and pick up 5, and its 4th down. We were going to go for it, but a false start pushed us back and we sent out the FG unit. Folk then missed the FG.

I'm making way to big of a deal out of this, but Barber needs to change his game. He needs to go north and south, and stop bouncing runs outside, because those decisions can cost us points when the games actually matter. Teams are expecting him to bounce runs now after his success in 07, and he does not have the speed to combat this. Just go N and S and get what you can.

Do you think the TV distracts the Punt Returner, its like baseball..you can lose the ball in the sun, but in this case the TV. IMO I think it should be turned off when kicking/punting to Dallas then turned on against opponents

every little advantage helps
