If we sign Hardy and resign McClain this is a draft I would be really excited about.
1. Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State
Guy is a run stuffer and quick off the ball. I would love to have this guy as a 1 technique who played right beside Crawford with Lawrence and Hardy as the book ends. Our front 4 has gone from a weakness to a strength, especially if Crawford and Lawrence come on like I think they will.
2. Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise State
Guy is a bigger back with impressive movement skills. In this mock Tevin Coleman is off the board and I go with another back who I believe will also be a complete back at the next level.
3. Ronald Darby, CB, Florida State
Guy could go way sooner than this based on his athleticism. However, I used CBSSports as my guide. If he is there in the third, we spring to the podium. Guy has rare athleticism and could be a solid starter if he worked on his footwork.
4. Gerod Holliman, Safety, Louisville
This guy is a ballhawk in the secondary and had 14 INT's last year. So why does he slide? Because he is coming off of an injury and also takes poor angles in the run game. He isn't the best tackler either. He is a sneak tackler and not quite the physical presence that you would want. However, would provide an upgrade over Heath when they went into Nickel package and Church dropped down as a nickel linebacker.
5. Kenny Bell, WR, Nebraska
All time receiver at Nebraska. What is more important about him is that he is a special team demon. He is a terrific point of attack blocker as a WR. He replaces Harris. Only issue, he wasn't a punt returner in college. Wonder if he could do it in the pros?
7. Chris Hacket, Safety, TCU
Didn't test well, so will slide. However, this is a gritty player who will be a great special team pick up that could develop into a starter quality player down the road.
7. Kyle Loomis, Punter, Portland State
The ball explodes off his foot. He is 28 so a little bit older but punters and kickers can play forever. He is a cheaper, better punter than what we currently have.
QB (3)
Tony Romo, Brandon Weeden, Dustin Vaughn
RB (3)
Jay Ajayi, Darren McFadden, Ryan Williams
FB (1)
Jed Collins
OT (4)
Tyron Smith, Doug Free, Darren Weems, Donald Hawkins
Center and Guards (4)
Ronald Leery, Travis Frederick, Zach Martin, Mackenzie Bernadeau,
We will need to sign someone else to cover ourselves.
WR (5)
Dez Bryant, Terrence Williams, Cole Beasley, Devin Streets, Kenny Bell
Defensive Ends (4)
Gregg Hardy, Demarcus Lawrence, Jeremy Mincey, Ben Gardner
Defensive Tackle (4)
Tyrone Crawford, Eddie Goldman, Terrell McClain, Chris Whaley
Linebackers (7)
Sean Lee, Rolando McClain, Anthony Hitchens, Andrew Gachkar, Jasper Brinkley, Keith Rivers, Kyle Wilber
Corners (5)
Orlando Scandrick, Brandon Carr, Ronald Darby, Corey White, Tyler Patmon, and Mo Claiborne after he gets off of IR
Safety (5)
JJ Wilcox, Barry Church, Gerod Holliman, Chris Hacket, Jeff Heath
Longsnapper (1)
J.P. LaDouceur
Kicker (1)
Dan Bailey
Punter (1)
Kyle Loomis
We would then have five players to add. Probably add one to defensive line and one that is a guard/center. We could add another returner. What do you all think?
