I'll counter with a list of my own:

Fire:
Kiffin. Ask Marinelli to stay but understand if he won't.

Hire:
Seattle's secondary coach as our DC.

Cut:
Austin
Heath
Sims
Hayden
Weems
Brown
Irvin
Lemon
Wilson
McCray

Restructure:
Witten
Ware (SIGNIFICANTLY or Trade for 3rd rounder)
Romo

Focus in offseason either draft or FA
2 DT
1 DE
1 FS
1 OG
1 WLB
1 OT

So you're definately going nothing but DL in the draft since you got rid of your entire roster of D-Lineman.

Great strategy there.

*Hopes the sarcasm is noticable enough for the clueless OP*

I don't get the hate on Church, at all. The fact that you are hearing his name at all is an indicator that a) few people in front of him are doing his job but b) he damn sure is doing his job.

Id cut the whole team and sign 53 vet min players until we are free of dead money and then build this team from scratch.

Id rather spend the next 7 years building a team the right way than be subjected to this embarrasing **** any longer.

I don't get all the love for Dhurch - he would not even be a second FS on most teams

Sadly Church is a big reason why we are not 0-13 right now... He is the second leading tackler on our team....

Agree with all except lee and church. But try keep marinelli. Also keep dunbar if he can still play. Next year will be the same or worse. Way to many things to fix in one offseason

As much as I hate to say it, it's time to cut ties with Witten and Ware.Escobar and/or Hanna need to be allowed to sink or swim before they get frustrated and go elsewhere and proceed to flourish. And it's time for a complete re-build on the D-Line.

He's a great Lb, but the reality is that Sean Lee can't stay healthy.... the team doesn't need a great Lb for half of a season.

This seems like an overreaction thread but this team does need a massive flush this next offseason.

Obvious Cuts:
Ware - He is no longer worth his large salary and it is time to move on. If he tears it up in a 3-4 next year so be it. Wish him nothing but the best. I would not trade him because he deserves to choose his next destination as he took a smaller contract to remain with the team years ago.
Miles Austin - Time to cut our losses. Should have been cut this last offseason instead of being restructured.

Controversial Cuts:
Witten - Yeah the guy can still play but this team needs to free up money for Dez and Tyrone Smith. Cutting Witten would free up his salary for the year that these two become free agents. Dallas wasted a 2nd on Escobar now is the time to trot him out on the field.

Doug Free - He has played well much better than last year. This is merely the team trying to free up space for Dez and Tyrone. Parnell will be a much cheaper option and he can probably play just as well.

Trade:
Carter - get a ham sandwich for him doesn't matter. The guy is giving zero effort than wonders why the staff was giving Sims so much playing time. If Lee can come back healthy , I would start Sims for the rest of the year. I can take losing when the team has no talent. The Dline is terrible but they play hard. Carter has the talent but is sandbagging it out there. Bad attitudes need to go.

Draft:

1st round Louis Nix NT I didn't think Dallas would have a chance to get this guy, but I expect Rodgers to come back next week and drop another 40 burger on Dallas. Philly will probably do the same to close out the season and Dallas will go 8-8. Nix is a perfect candidate for the 1 tech and will make the guy next to him much better. Dallas needs to get bigger on Dline. This undersized concept is not working.

2nd round Ray Drew DE This guy is a bigger DE that can get to the quarterback. He can rush the passer but still has good size to stop the run.

3rd round Taylor Hart DE Another really big DE that can get to the quarterback. He would start him at the strong side DE position and let him stuff the run. He can still get to the passer as well as evidenced by his 8 sacks last year.

4th round Daniel McCullers NT This guys is huge and would make a great run stuffer. I would start him at NG if he makes it to the 4th round and if he doesn't I would take Beau Allen as a consolation prize. I would add more beef to the interior and actually start Nix at the three tech and use him like the lions use Suh.

5th round Harrison Smith NT Georgia. This guy has a nonstop motor and can play both the run and pass. He would serve as excellent depth in case of injury,

Keep Hayden and Nevis for depth, have been Bass drop a few pounds and move him to DE to compete with Hart, have Crawford compete with Drew as the pass rushing DE. These moves would give Dallas a very young, big, and strong Dline that would finally keep the linebackers clean. All these guys are big and all of them can get to the quarterback expect for McCullers and Allen who would just be run stoppers at the NG position.

ahh, I see.

we should cut all those guys and replace them with even worse guys.

good call.
getting to 2-14 for a couple years in a row is one way to rebuild.

Why would you cut Crawford?

Same goes for Chuch (guy can't do everything....he has rookies beside him and incompetents otherwise)

Would like to keep E.Brown and Nevis only if Maranelli stays (whom I would elevate to DC and ask Kiffin to step down). Same probably goes for Wilson, just to see if they could improve with one offseason with the guy.

You can't cut Lee yet.

Webb is still young, though I am not big on tiny cb's.

I would include Witten on the "cut" list, declining player at a position with two young guys who deserve a shot.

Rest of them can go.

Its that same thinking that has kept this team at 8-8 and over the cap next season. The Dline needs a major overhaul and you have to let players go. New England traded Seymour when he was considered the best defensive player rather than pay him lots of money. Dallas has to let go of the past to move on with the future

Overreacting much?

When you're releasing a third of the team, your opinion has no credibility.

Let's see…

  1. Franchise QB - Romo
  2. Franchise LT - Smith
  3. Franchise WR - Dez
  4. Franchise (elite pass rusher) DE - ???
  5. Franchise (shutdown) CB - ???
Seems like, for a limited time anyway, half of the equation is solved.
