Guys:
If you take a look at what happened, there appears to be some indication of what was really the hangup. First, Jerry is the kind of guy that will make it happen if he feels it is the right way to go. Second, Reeves had been in meetings with the offensive staff for 2-3 days, which is enough time to get a feel of how he was going to work with JG. Third, DR had been retired for almost 5 years, which is time enough to develop other interests rather than football and also, maybe get a little bit lazy.
Here is what I think happened: Jerry didn't like what they were seeing and JG didn't see a lot of help from DR. Remember Reeves had been away from football for 5 years, that is a long time and the game has changed a lot. I don't think DR was a good fit and if Wade and JG can't get it done they need to be replaced, not suplimented by a consultant.
Note: I think we will be better (barring injuries) and I still think injuries played a major role in our failures this season. Name another successful team that had the overall number of injuries comparable to the Cowboys (QB, RB, OL, WR, LB, CB, SS, FS, etc.).
Thoughts?
