There is no doubt he sucked pulling double duty. Perhaps that is the difference this year. He is now truly a walk around coach now. There is nothing wrong with him being a walk around coach.

He either accepted it, or we prob go 8 and 8 again, and maybe he gets canned.
Dude learns from his mistakes.

I sincerely want to thank the OP and all you who posted it makes me and some others feel good.
These type post unify a group or anyway this board, I think

Thanks waving monkey, I think sometimes we forget we are all Cowboys fans here, and start to go after each other harder than what's called for.
I think sometimes we are just frustrated that the team is not where we would like it to be.

The coordinators have a big part in our success - I think Marinelli is a GOD - but I admit it's not fair to take credit away from Jason. He IS the headcoach and he's not a dummy. This was all part of his plan and some of us have been too spoiled and too impatient (I'll admit it) to see the bigger picture....

It's spelled "whining".

I have always liked Garrett as a coach but I have cowboy friend who wanted him gone. I was willing to give him one more year if it did not go well this year. That would have given him five years and this is result oriented league. Now I will fully admit that I have been wrong before when it comes to cowboys coaches or personnel. I wanted the cowboys to draft Bobby Barbie Carpenter and we all know how that turned out.

Well done OP.
In order to see the job Garrett has done, all we have to do is look at the team/players and how they react to/about him.

Ironic isn't it, that it really was a process after all.

Garrett deserves every accolade and every bit of good press that he's getting. He deserves all of the praise that the players and front office guys are heaping on him.

There is absolutely no quit in his team.

I'm not sure GM Jones isn't being taught a little lesson by JG. I think between JG and Stephen they both are showing Jerry some light and Jerry has always said he's a listener. So while I discredit Jerry for a lot of wasted years I will credit him a tad at the moment for being a good listener.
I think JG would make a hell of a GM, I have always said that.

JG is showing with the right staff he can be a good walk around coach. I guess that goes with every coach. I'm happy for where we are now but think we took to long to get here. Of course who knows why it took so long, there are so many stories and opinions.
I can't wait to see where we go from here and that doesn't mean just the rest of this season. Great HCs build contenders for at least a few years.

When JG took over, Dallas was one of the oldest teams in the league with a bad OL. Now they're one of the youngest with the best OL. Not only that, he has assembled a team of players that are passionate and hard working. There are no shirkers on this team. You can't accomplish that overnight.

Hail, i half always liked Jason Garrett. The only thing i half not liked about him half been his easy way with players on the sidelines, at press conferinces and at county fairs.
If a player do not run the correct route he says, he say: "he's a competitor." and such.
If a player is always hurt, he says, he say: "he's a competitor and is sick he can't practice." (and i roll meine eye)
If a player misbehalfs on the sidelines, he says, he say: "He is passionate and he just wants us to be the best in the NFL."
Other than that, he is a good coach. this I belief.
Here is hoping that Jason develop a vulgar, mean, firebreathing misdemeanor for the future.
But then agains he is sucessful so meine criticisms might be lame.

Jason Garrett is at his best in his current role as the walk around, clap and pat guys on the butt head coach.

Having him as your head coach doesn't give you any sort of schematic advantage, but if you surround him with the right assistants with a team as talented as we have, he can do enough to not screw it up. He seems good at motivating the guys, so that has to count for something.

No. But I do wonder about the competency of our fan base when I read posts like this.

Yea because Garrett has never given anyone any reason to think that lol.

This is the same guy who had horrible time management skills. Ran a horrible offensive game plan week after week and iced his own kicker.

It wasnt until he was stripped of all responsibilities except clapping that this team started having any success.

But if sticking your head in the sand works for you, by all means.

Agree completely, of course. Well, not completely, I don't think it's ironic that there was a process, after all. I think it was pretty evident all along. It just took a more time to bear fruit than any of us wanted. But the seeds of the process have been pretty obvious for some time as far as I'm concerned.

Is that what you think? Really -- or are you just being sarcastic because I'm not sure.

Its what the guy really thinks. There's still a handful of them.

You just lose all credibility of being reasonable when you say stuff like that and much like the handful of Romo haters, my only conclusion is that it's personal and no amount of success will suffice.
