my thoughts on late PI call on Carr

I am not sure if any of you ever played Tecmo Super Bowl for the SNES system. Well, when playing the computer, you could be completely destroying your opponent, and then the game would cheat. Out of nowhere late in the game, it would force you to fumble, and the defender who recovered the fumble would be invincible.....no matter how many of your players, including yourself, would try to tackle him, all would simply bounce off, until he scored a TD and ruined your shutout.

Well that PI call on Carr reminded me of that. I see that play all the time with no flag being called. That would have given us the ball back, since it was 4th down. The shutout would have been in tact. Carr turned to make a play on the ball, and yes there was contact, but by both players. IMO, the refs gifted a TD for the Colts simply so they could save face.

We were robbed of our shutout.

I agree.if that was sherman that would be a no call. He put his arm put but he was turned looking for the ball.

Refs did it in the San Diego vs Baltimore game too. But that caused the Chargers to win.

Here is what I know: whenever there is a PI call, some people will argue that it wasn't really PI and other people will say that it is a textbook case of PI.

I agree. Sherman and Peterson could not have done a better job. This is one of those cases in which the refs felt sorry for the other team. It should have been a shutout fair and square and its another bad call by the refs.

While a shutout is nice from the statistical perspective, it doesn't mean anything in the long run.

Savor the next two weeks and then gear yourself up for primetime.

That's exactly the type of discussion places like this were made for, so enjoy
