I am glad we went on the road against a bad team and rolled.....there were things to be very excited about and some not so good things:

1) the run game was once a concern, but we have improved vastly every week rushing the football...JuJo is healthy and having a great season, and not many teams have a backup RB as good as MB III

2) OL in general has been good...Adams is really rounding into form..hopefully Gurode wont be set back any with the crap from today, because he is really playing well

3) what probably has to be somewhat scary for opposing teams is Terrell Owens had one or two big plays today, but we scored 38 pts on offense and he didnt score a TD...our vastly improved run game is probably not just the result of the OL playing a little better, but the way teams are game planning Owens/Glenn/Witten...

4) Pat Watkins made a couple plays on the ball today and seems to be getting more aggressive in reading plays in space and breaking...I still cant believe we got this guy in the 5th rd

5) Bledsoe 20 throws...run game 41 rushes...we all know Bledsoe makes some poor throws from time to time, if we continue to prove we can run the ball we greatly improve the odds of not seeing Bledsoe making throws he regrets

6) while I know we only gave up 14 pts and got 3 turnovers, we had almost no pressure on the QB all day...there has been a wide variety of excuses made for why, but the fact is we've played 3 games and in 2 1/2 of them we've had no pass rush...in the preseason the starters went 3 straight games without a sack...if we play defense next week like we did today we'll give up 30+ pts easily...McNabb is EONS more of a player right now than Vince Young is...the Eagles OL is VASTLY better than the Titans OL is...Bryan Westbrook is a huge playmaker....we wont get the pleasure of playing a bad team with a rookie QB much the rest of the yr (save Arizona perhaps)...we've got to start knocking down QB's at some point...

7) Vanderjact is a huge concern...30 yd field goals are still an adventure and look like they will be all year again...we were fortunate to be so far out in front against Washington and Tennessee...in close games I dont feel any better about our chances with him than I did any of the other clowns we've had at kicker recently

8) on the Haynesworth thing...one of my friends called me and said Peter King reported Haynesworth might only be suspended a week, if that...what a freaking joke...I've watched football since 1975 and rarely (if ever) have I seen such thuggery on the field...Haynesworth should probably not only be canned for a few months he might even should be brought up on charges...what he did wasnt an accident...it was pathetic

Nice analysis David.

I think Tyson Thompson is rounding out into becoming one of the better 3rd team backs in the league. The guy has some talent and provides excellent depth.

As far as the pass rush goes I'd like to see Ware give just a little more.

Newman looks great as a punt returner.

The KO coverage still scares the hell out of me.

The run defense that first series was pretty bad. We tightened up after but I wonder what was causing such a problem.

Overall I have agree with David. For the Bledsoe haters that pick he threw was more a great play then a bad pass, but also I have noticed this with Glenn from time to time he slows down coming out of his break like he isn't expecting the ball and I sorta saw that there. The run defense looked like it still on the bye but did well afterwards. I am not worried about the pass rush because VY was nervous and you can see his scrambles were too, Mcnabb has become more of a pocket guy and is judicious with jis runs a la Steve Young. I think the secondary is fine and AG proved why he deserved the extension an Watkins looked like he was not block tackling as much. Vandy the jury is still out I think its a mechanics issue but hopefully he doesn't become Knoblach. The only thing I do habe a problem is our 3rd and 4th receivers seem very average thats got to be the reason we are not throwing to them, they aren't getting open.

IMO, this was due to us being so concerned about overpursuit and VY taking off for big gains. I'd rather force him to throw and not create pressure than blitz all day and let him run.

BTW, the only thing I've ever seen that rivaled Hayseworth's kick to the head was the bounty game against Philly

David[/QUOTE]You wouldn't have seen this either in 1975, there wasn't 12? cameras to catch every thing like this then. Everybody would be wondering what really happened.

we didnt blitz all that much. we basically played coverage.

and I believe the score was a good reason for us to play that way.

we won by 31. no need to show out our blitz packages...
till next week.

I was gonna post my comments but i see that some ppl already made the same points i was thinking... so i'll second them.

The lack of sacks was partiall because they expected Young to run a lot because of his inexperience.... so they stayed at home and in the lanes.... so not much blitzing or selling out in persuit. gonna have to risk ti more next week though.

That was a backhanded complimetn to Bledsoe... I thought he played VERY well today. shook off the early INT (which i agree was more the S getting a great break on it and making a play.) never "saw" the pressure... kept hiseyes downfield and made all the throws.... i don't see why you need to make it sound like we won DESPITE drew by taking the ball out of his hands when he played well....

and... Haynesworth is a thug.

Without making excuses, I agree with this part. BTW - Watkins was all over the field making tackles and saved quite a few first downs in the 1st half..
