Agreed.

I get that teams are not "game planning" for him yet...but teams also are not lying down and just letting him make them look terrible either.
He has shown incredible poise and game awareness. He is a threat on the scramble, quick slant, back shoulder fade, screens, long balls, ect... While teams are using vanilla type coverages he has still be very impressive...

Not pulling Romo and replacing him or anything...
But very happy and surprised that our 4th round pick that only ended up in Dallas due to Goff, Wentz, Lynch, and Conner Cook all get taken from us before we had a chance to pick them, is reminding the league why the draft is such a gamble and game of luck.

The guy just seems to be one of those guys that the speed of the game doesn't bother him at all.
Most rookie QB's look shocked and frustrated, this guy looks like he is in complete control of every play.
Just goes to show you that scouting isn't an exact science especially when it comes to QB position. So much more involved then arm strength, level of competition. No one can calculate poise, speed to process info during the play and execute that info.

We were lucky. Make no mistake about the luck part. If NFL all knew what Dak would do he wouldn't have gotten out of the 1st round.

I also think Dooley is turning out to be a pretty decent coach.

His position group produces, Dez seems to love him, and he's got them blocking hard downfield. It's always hard to judge position group coaches, but he seems to be doing good work, yeah.

sometimes its better to be lucky than good..............hope our 2nd round LB ends up with similar long term results.

**** It is safe to say you could go through the annals of the legends of the game and find few QBs who ever had better numbers through the first two preseason games of his career

Preseason Numbers Comparisons

Aaron Rodgers 2005 Preseason
Game 1 & 2
2 of 6 for 7 yds. 0 TDs 1 int.
4 of 9 for 21 yds. 0 TDs 1 int.

Andrew Luck 2012 Preseason
Game 1 & 2
10 of 16 for 188 yds. 2 TDs 0 ints.
16 of 25 for 175 0 TDs 2 ints.

Russell Wilson 2012 Preseason
Game 1 & 2
12 of 16 for 124 yds 1 TD 1 int.
10 of 17 for 155 yds. 2 TDs 0 ints.

Dak Prescott 2016 Preseason
10 of 12 for 199 yds. 2 TDs. 0 ints.
12 of 15 for 195 yds 4 TDs (2 passing 2 rushing) 0 ints.
All the Aaron Rodgers numbers confirm is that a rookie preseason means very little, not the other way around.

Let's just be glad Dak has looked great in preseason and hasn't been average or terrible, because then Dallas would be force-fitting another aging vet in there and not letting Dak get valuable reps.

Not just Witten has given Dak Kudos, Romo and dez are acting like a proud parents in their interviews. They love Dak.

Romo's safety blankets are Witten and Beasley. So confident in those two that unless Street or other WRs are wide open he doesn't throw to them.
That's not true, he throws to Dez, T Williams and a few passes to Street while all has been in traffic

Not too much to complain about last night. Except for the penalties. Those have to be cleaned up.

And, to think I wanted the Cowboys to draft Goff. SMH.
