They weren't true according to Broadus who knows people in the Patriots organization who said they had another guy targeted.

I honestly can't see any team risking a 2nd on a guy that could potentially never play again. Especially the Patriots.
I must have missed that but there is always half truths around draft time. Hopefully Smith will turn out fine. I thought it was a big risk for us to pick him, but it is a risk I was willing to take. I just don't know if I would have done it early in the 2nd though.

That's surprising I think I remember announcers saying he was beasting during the preseason I did not know he didn't play
But who was saying it? Was it legit analysts, or was there SB Nation bloggers. If you read BTB, they make every Cowboy prospect seem like a future superstar

Fair enough but does anyone really believe the Cowboys & ..... PATRIOTS ... Were the only teams looking at Jaylon in the 2nd? Yeah right. The Patriots somehow got attached to it to give it some credibility.

I'm a big JAylon Smith fan.. He was the best player in the draft imo. But we reached before we had to.
Was gonna say, wouldnt be the first time people said the Patriots were targeting one of our questionable picks

Broaddus didn't appear a fan of the pick and I suspect he talked to a buddy with the Pats who said he didn't hear anything and Broaddus ran with it claiming the Pats had no interest so he could further prove what a poor pick it was. However, if I recall, there was a reporter from New England who tweeted out that Smith was a possible target for the Pats in Rd 2.

Nevertheless, it was still a massive risk by the Cowboys. Hope is pays off.
If Jaylon can only come back 85%, he is still a very good NFL LB.

Id like to see him at Will and add a young talent at Mike. Id move Lee back to Mike but limit his snaps and have him rotate with a young prospect. Lee is a good Will, but he is a game changer at Mike IMO. Jaylon can a game changer at Mike, but probably not in this system. He is everything you want in a coverage Mike in any Tampa varient with the ability to play that deep zone, but I dont if he will be enough of a block shedder to clean up the run lanes. There he is better at Will wear he can chase sideline to sideline

I dont Lee is the future at LB for the Cowboys

Legit analysis is a matter of opinion sort of ! What/Who is legit
I read BTB, I watch NFL Network game day and lots other shows on NFL network plenty of haters there, I try to get a lot of different points of views from here, DC forum, what i see ( by no means am I an expert ) I don't read Sb Nation unless someone uses as a reference then I will read the article.
