Don't expect much from Rogers, Oglesby
IRVING - Wade Phillips indicated Monday that the two players the Cowboys claimed Sunday won't be much more than special teamers - at least for now.
The Cowboys picked up SMU-ex Justin Rogers, a defensive end turned linebacker, off waivers from New England. The Patriots selected Rogers in the sixth round after he had 19 1/2 sacks for SMU in 43 games, the second most in school history.
As a senior, he recorded 9 1/2 sacks, second most in Conference USA.
"He is a good special teamer," Phillips said. "He did well on special teams for New England. We will work him in."
Same goes for Evan Oglesby, the third-year corner claimed off waivers from Baltimore.
"I think he has value on special teams to start with," Phillips said. "And also I think he could play in the game in certain situations. We just have to work and see where he is."
