Seems to me he's just keeping a positive attitude. I realize that is a foreign concept around here.

Its kinda true other than the Titans get a 1st round bye.

You guys act like Dallas isn't capable of beating any team in this league.

When the Playoffs start its anybody's trophy.

Ask Pittsburgh and New York.
Also ask Pittsburgh and New York how many penalties per game they committed. We lead the NFL and no one goes to the Super Bowl with this many penalties. Sorry to ruin your day.

Some are just a little angry at Tony right now, so everything he says or does will be the wrong thing. He says Black, it should have been white. He says Up, should have said down.

Wow. You guys all need to get a life. It's obvious what he meant was that every team starts anew come the postseason, not that the Cowboys are playing as well as the Titans.

So you are saying that we also get a bye week and homefield advantage throughout, just like the Titans? Obviously we are at a disadvantage and will likely have the toughest road to the super bowl.

Here's our journey:

Win on the road vs. Philthy
Win on the road vs. (likely) Minnesota
Win on the road vs. NY
Win on the road vs. (likely) Panthers

Here is the Titans:

meaningless games vs. Colts
week off
Win at home vs. weakest Wildcard team
Win at home vs. (likely) Steelers

Romo's comments doesn't take into account that Tennessee has positioned itself to get to the SB while we have made it as hard as possible on ourselves.

You do know the Cowboys could actually get hot and eliminate the mistakes don't you? Pittsburgh and New York were both average as hell before going on a tear at the right time. It could happen. Would we all be surprised and elated? Yes. So were their fans.

Tennessee is the 3rd most penalized team, the NYG are the 8th most penalized team. Baltimore the 7th most penalized team. Arizona is the 5th most penalized team. carolina 12th most. Pitt is 16th. Buffalo and Seattle are tied for 2nd fewest penalties in the league, you aint seeing them play in January.

It stinks we have so many penalties, but I'd also bet we league the league in b/s calls too.

Yeah, no. That's not what he was saying. It was a metaphor for a clean slate. That's another metaphor, by the way. I didn't mean to imply that this team was clean. Or made out of slate.

Sure, they have a chance. Jimmy Johsnon, who won 2 Super Bowls in Dallas, said they could win it.

Pittsburgh won the Super Bowl with the 6th seed. They had flaws like Dallas, but they got in and got hot.

The Giants went 10-6 last year.

Actually, using Pittsburgh and NY is misleading.

The 2005 Steelers (the 6th seed) went 4-0 in the month of December, winning their remaining regular season games and beating their opponents handily.

Also the 2007 Giants were 3-2 in their December stretch run, and even though they lost to the undefeated Patriots, they play such a great game, it gave them a boost of confidence to ride into the post-season as a road warrior.
Moreover, up until that time, the Giants had won 7 straight road games.

Let's also compare that to the 2008 Cowboys.
Dallas is 1-2 for the month of December, has lost 4 games on the road and doesn't resemble a squad anywhere close to the squads the Steelers and Giants were.

Now, it's not out of the realm of possibility that the Cowboys could hit a hot streak with a win in Philadelphia.

But history being what it is, and having to overcome the lack of communication, inconsistency and mistakes this team is prone to make, it's very doubtful (if you judge by statistics and mere observation) this team is going to make a similar Super Bowl run.

But as I always say, I will be glad to be proven wrong. :)

maybe we're just sick of them talking so much and not showing anything after they do.

Its the NFL man.

You're going to have a microphone in front of your face if your in the league.

What Romo said is just a routine line said by thousands of athletes over the years in many different sports.

The writer spins it. Cowboy fans takes the bait. Pissing and moaning begin.

I'll be very elated. I'll throw a party and you are invited! But you are missing my point. Right now through 15 games we are one of the most undisciplined teams in the NFL. Penalties are a direct reflection of lack of discipline which, in my view and the view of every NFL analyst is the result of coaching or lack there-of.

Not one person thought the Giants were going to go as far as beat the undefeated Patriots last year. I have to agree with Tony in that its anyone's trophy for the taking. Not one team is dominant IMHO. Tennessee might have beat Pittsburgh and all but they also got beat by the Texans and had their *** handed to them on a platter by the Jets....

Any given Sunday people.

I like Romo's enthusiasm and trying to get the team fired up and ready. Once in the playoffs, the regular season is over and anything can happen. For all we know we could see an 8-8 team in the Super Bowl. Anything can happen.

I have an idea.

Why don't some of you write down the exact words you want Tony to say, and then email them to him?

Clearly, many of you are not going to be happy unless Tony responds to every question with a very narrow set of stock answers.

To even start a thread like this invites visions of an "Ed Werder wanna-be".

What he said is exactly right. And to anybody that can read and write the english language, he did not "compare" the Cowboys to the Titans.

It is like what do these people expect Romo to say? Come on with a big sulk on his face saying how we shouldn't even bother going to the playoffs because we are one and done? I am sure some in here would love Romo to say that.

Like you said, Romo said the right things.
