Any idea when they are projected to finalize this? I'm guessing sometime in the next offseason. Hopefully sooner. I can't think of anything I like more than my choice for.............

Lone Star Stadium
:starspin

It seems to roll off the tongue quite easily, since the word "State", commonly follows the term "Lone Star". Replacing it with "Stadium" seems to work quite well.

Anyone have anything they like http://i5.***BLOCKED***/albums/y164/nbr1diva/question_z1.gif

I'd love to see Tom Landry Stadium but it will end up being something like AT&T Stadium. The last rumor I heard was they were going to sign a deal for like 300 million.

Storied franchises such as ours, need to keep the same name for their new venue, IMO. I still love the 'Texas Stadium' name, as only one team comes to mind. Us!! Being a realist, if JJ wants to name the playing field something in line with corperate America, then thats great!! Many sporting arenas (including college venues) do it this way.

It will probably end up being AT&T stadium so it doesn't really matter what I think.

A beer sponsor? It could work.

Ya, I thought of Lone Star Beer when I conjured up the idea. It's a shame a sponsor is part of the agenda. I would like us to go with something that compliments the team. AT&T stadium just isn't cool.

Perhaps we could contact Lone Star Beer and workout something reasonable. With the intent of having the best of both worlds of course. (ie a cool name and a sponsor). After all, the Colorado Rockies have Coors Stadium.

Why can't the tax payers who paid for it have the name they think fits the image of what best suits the ideology. I'm not an Arlington tax payer, but I'm sure they would like "Lone Star Stadium". :D

Ok I know the stadium will most likely be the AT&T Stadium or Dome...thats ok with me...

but The Astrodome was nicknamed the House of Pain when Houston was doing well with Moon and that defense...

So whatever our stadium name is..........I want the nickname to be the Doomsday Dome....especially with the way our defense is starting to look......there can even be a section of the stadium where the Doomers sit (similar to the Baseline Bums of the Spurs)....dressed all rowdy in like Raiders fans do (LOD Road Warriors type gear), all blue and silver of course....with jerseys from their favorite defensive players....Have a painted sign of the Legion of Doom (Ware, Ellis, Ratliff, Canty, Newman, etc...)

Looking at some of the richest companies in America, we can rule out several just because of the nicknames people will most certainly use.

For instance, Exxon would be called Excon. IBM would be called the toilet bowl (Bowel movement). Johnson and Johnson would either be about babies or a couple male genitalia. Microsoft just has too many to type. Pfizer Pfield? Nope, Pf****** stupid. Walmart and their 'Always low prices. Always' fits the Cardinals best. I can't even fathom what they will say about AT&T and the 'Reach out and touch someone' slogan. I can see how Jerry is having difficulties deciding.

I think we all realize this new stadium will bare a corporate name.

Does it have to be AT&T Stadium?

Could it be something like one of these:

AT&T's North Texas Stadium

AT&T's Texas Stadium

AT&T's Cowboy Dome

Any of these work for me. Does anyone have a better name like this?

Here is another thought............

All-Star Stadium

The Wikipedia definition shows the common meaning we are most familiar with......

"All-star" as a sports term can refer to an "all-star" team selected as the best players at particular positions in team sports, or a list of top participants in individual sports such as golf and automobile racing. Events limited to all-stars in the field of individual sports are referred to as "all-star events"; in team sports the premier all-star games are the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, NBA All-Star Game, Pro Bowl, NHL All-Star Game, and the MLS All-Star Game. Many all-star teams, such as collegiate "all-conference", All-America or All-Australian teams, are named on a purely honorary basis with no intent of their ever performing together as a unit.

A good sponsor for this name would be "Converse All-Star Shoes". Converse even has a star on their shoe as their logo.
