that's great. why didn't you just answer the thread starters question and move on? the fans are who they are. some of these fans just paid a couple thousand dollars to watch this team choke again in crunch time. don't they have a right to express their frustration after spending all that money?
I answered it exactly the way I wanted to.

You can not have ALL PRO's at every position.

Do you know how hard it is to even find a DECENT CB??? Not a good one, just decent. Newman is good not great. Take him for what he is. Don't be stupid and start cutting starting caliber CBs.

First let me say that there's nothing personal with those guys on my list. I'm looking at it strickly from a business point of view, meaning that if there was a salary cap next year, I'd keep most, if not all, of them because it wouldn't be a good business decision to cut them do to the salary cap impact.

Now, as for Newman. I think he's still a servicible CB, but he's not worth the money he's going to make for the rest of his contract. Since there's an opportunity to get rid of his contract next year without any ramafications, the Cowboys must look for their best interest long term. He's going to be 32 years old entering next season, and he's already not as good as he was 4 years ago. There are times when he does give me a pause and think he still has it, but overall, he just can't keep the high level of play that a CB making that money is expected to on a consistence basis. We already have his replacement on the roster ( even though he hasn't exactly been an All Pro himself ), but if we have to, we can sign somebody who would contribute just as much as Newman, for alot less.

next:

Kozier? Have you forgotten how bad our OL looked without him? He's good at pulling with decent strength.

No, I haven't. And part of the reason why I want FLO gone is exactly because of that. Kozier's replacement last year wasn't the problem. FLO not playing as well without Kozier's help was. Kozier is an ok lineman with a tendency to either give up a sack, commit a penalty, or miss a block at the worst possible moment. As a back up lineman, he'd be good because he can come in with his experience and a provide a temp fix for an injured starter. As a starter, he's average at best. It's time to bring in a young prospect and develop him.

Hamlin.....I can agree with this one. Poor tackling and NO INTs ??? what kind of FS is that?

I've said it before: the Cowboys ( and myself ) fell for his contract year. Should have known better.

Barber....needs to go back being a 3rd down back. Choice and Jones 1 and 2nd downs.

I agree, but just like Newman, his contract does not call for him to be a short yardage back ( 3rd down back is a Felix Jones type ). It's the same scenario as Newman. If there was a cap next year, I'd keep him because cutting him would hurt more. However, since there's no cap, the long interest of the club would be better served if his contract wasn't on the books in 2011 or beyond.

Flo....well, he's getting old and I agree with that he needs to go. But let's get a replacement?!

We already have him. Doug Free is more than ready to take his place. He's proven that he can handle the position. I'd still go out and draft one or two prospects just in case he goes backwards, but so far he's done a very good job at RT which is not his natural position ( he's a natural LT ).

Pattrick - All-Mouth No-Tooth - Crayton

Then followed by Sam - The Sham - Hurd.

Time to bring in a legitimate #1 WR, make Austin #2, move Roy Williams to #3 and then restock the #4 WR option so well that Ogletree rounds it out at #5.

This is close. Real close.

Although, as much as I was on the TO bandwagon. I think we can win without a true #1 WR. I like #'s 2-5 though.

You guys are dreaming if you think Newman is getting cut. He's had a good year, not his best but very solid and good. Blue-Chip CBS don't grow on trees. Newman still has it.

He gave up 2 plays yesterday, and the second one was a tough one. He didn't get a jam in cover 2 to ride that guy closer to the sidelines. That shouldn't have happened, and it hurt.

But, you know what.

They made one play on Jenkins and 2 plays on Newman, and they were held to 20 points. That is well below what they have been getting and average. Dallas should have won that game.

How about scoring after Newman gives you the ball back on the SD 30 instead of not moving the ball and sending the erratic kicker out there.

Better yet, how about running Felix Jones on the goalline to threaten the edges.

They also threw more towards Jenkins' side than they did towards Newman's. Jenkins made more plays than Newman did.

But, alas, that's not worst of problems. Newman can still play, but not at a high level or the level his contract dictates he plays at. He's not going to get better. Time catches up to everyone and he's no exception. If he's willing to take a major paycut, then great, but he wouldn't be. No team in the NFL would sign him, at this point, for what's left on his contract.

Naa.. that's just emotional. Spears is a FA, so he might not even be back. Free has done well, Spencer is obviously coming around, you can see it for weeks now, how close he is to making big plays. Crayton is a bargain for what he does, but they're not using him properly. Just take a look at his numbers this year and keep mind he doesn't even get half the snaps that either Roy Williams or Miles Austin does. He's a MUCH better version of Kelvin Martin and nearly a perfect 3rd down receiver.

For me, it is simple: Terri Newman.

I have watched him get owned by WR after WR for the last 2 or 3 years. He plain stinks. I can't stand this chump. His attitude stinks. He is/has been overrated. He never was that good. He is old and overpaid. I don't care which team he goes to. All I want is for this lousy, idiotic player to be gone from the Cowboys. I said it early in the season that I would have went with Ball over him. Newman is like a bad dream that keeps getting worse. I don't care about the cap hit. Good riddance. I will be so happy when he is gone.

You're out of your mind.

Jerry Jones would be ideal, but I would settle for Hamlin, Adams and Carpenter.
