Lakers aren’t doing much this year in that loaded conference imo.

Unfortunately my Cavaliers won’t do much either. Just hand the trophy to the Warriors and let’s advance to the offseason.

Lebron warming up in the lay up lines before the game, hopefully he will play a few minutes tonight.

Celtics playing 3 in 5 almost at the onset of camp. Look rusty as all hell. Team D, ball movement and 3 point not at all in form.

Some rotation SN's

- Yabusele has been playing well and could steal Ojeleye's rotation spot. Yabu has significantly more upside and might be at the point he can give consistent minutes in a contender

- Robert Williams has had a strong preseason. I think he will still spend some time in the G-Leage and when he is with the team this year he is probably getting garbage minutes. But his play has been encouraging

I didnt really think there was much likelyhood Kyrie would actually walk. There really isnt a scenario for him both as a player and a brand strong enough to leave Boston. Boston has the trifecta of big market/championship caliber/visible franchise.

Him and Porzingis would have made the Knicks a playoff team. However they wouldnt be championship caliber out of the gate, and for at least right now you don't know that that FO is going to put a title team around you.

so ... jimmy butler broke the timberwolves the other day
Just reading up on this.

Kinda sad that they were so easy to break. Towns and Wiggins are , to quote the great Craig Robinson, " soft as baby ****"

Though it also makes glad we never pulled the trigger on any of those 10,000 reported Butler to Bostons rumors back in the day either

With how much pull players have in the NBA, I don't get Tom Thibs trying to get Butler trying to buy back into the team.

He's wanted out since end of last season and supposedly doesn't care for KAT and Wiggins. Good player morale having some dude talking to ESPN, cussing out the coach/GM and **** talking the "core" players.

Take a long term signed Richardson(4 year 48mil), a first and a dump for a guy who wants to bolt asap and is a free agent in 19.

Thibs is hard headed like that.

Honestly at this point I would trade both Butler AND KAT. There young core is incredibly soft and they are never going to win anything with KAT and Wiggins. No one is taking in Wiggins deal, but KAT still has tremendous value on the trade market. I think after the season, you hit the reset button on Thibs and start over

More than that Thibs loves Butler, LOVES him.
That's his guy.

And Butler is right. Wiggins is naturally gifted as anyone could be and KAT is a skill set machine but neither play as hard as Butler or compete like that.

Butler is giving Minny what LBJ gives his teams. A competitor that is about work and effort. It wears these young dudes out though. They are not used to that.

Minny should pay Butler his money and then if they trade him later on at least it is from a position of power, not in a bargain basement mode.
You go to
Wiggins and KAT and tell them they gotta suck it up for another 3 months and if they want Jimmy moved after that he will be but they can't sell him for pennies on the dollar.

At this point, I dont see that core ever being really good. Wiggins just keeps taking steps backwards and its almost like he refuses to use his natural talent and instead just be a 3rd rate jump shoot. KAT could probably keep them relevant during the regular, but I think he is too soft to build a legit playoff team around. Let alone a contender. He us still young, and I could very well be off on this. But I think they need to do a full reset.

I dont think they will. I think they will value KAT's skill too much for them to move him this early in his career.

Essentially we are saying same thing.
If they can't toughen up nothing else matters.
But with young tams it is a very real process.
Gotta learn to win in regular season and close out games.
Gotta learn to win in playoffs and will yourself to wins once refs no longer blow whistles.
Gotta learn to win championships and the all-consuming drive and year long grind it takes.

At this point, those two can take these past couple days 2 ways. They can open there eyes, or they can keep coasting.

Maybe Jimmy Butler is some evil genius and this was his plan all along

lol true... though i suspect jimmy just wants his freaking max deal.

this is part of why I am always against tanking.
sure you can land exciting players and the draft is more fun but it's well beyond a guarantee you ever win a title or even compete at elite level.
even if you do get generational talents then you gotta build around them and have them grow into winners from that tanking position.

The draft is a complete lottery too. You just may be tanking for Andrea Barganai or Anthony Bennett
