Cowboys offensive lineman La’El Collins will be placed on injured reserve with a toe injury, PFT has confirmed.

Collins has a torn ligament in his toe. The Cowboys will place him on injured reserve knowing they could possibly bring him back in 8-10 weeks if he heals properly.

Teams can activate one player per season from the injured-reserve list.

We can only activate one player on IR. Who else is on IR? J. Smith? R. McClain? Romo?

Kind of a good thing. Leary is better.

But now, no more bad injuries on the offensive line. Got it?

I thought the OL looked better in the Bears game when Leary was in there too. If that's the OL injury we have to endure, I can certainly live with that.

Dallas Cowboys left guard La'el Collins is in a walking boot to protect his injured right big toe and a decision on whether he will have surgery will be made in two weeks.

Collins said he is going to let it "calm down for a couple weeks, see what it does and just keep treating it."

He said the hope is that the ligament can heal on its own without surgery. If he had surgery, he would likely miss the season. It is possible he could go on injured reserve and return after eight weeks if it heals well.

Bummer. Was looking forward to seeing him develop in his sophomore season. Been kind of underwhelming. He hasn't been bad but Leary walked in and there was no drop off.

I thought it was a guarantee we'd lose him as soon as he became eligible for free agency , but Collins might not be that hard to sign down the road.

Time to earn your spot back, Leary. I want to see Collins replace Free.
