Cowboys tight end Jason Witten is entering the final year of his current contract, and in a Super Bowl Radio Row appearance he admitted he’s not sure how much longer he’ll be playing.

“I think at this point you just go into it and look at it one year at a time,” Witten said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I wouldn’t rule out [playing past 2017], but I don’t think I’m going to be making an announcement that this is it either. I know how much it takes to put into it, so you don’t know what you’re going to feel like.”

Witten, a third-round pick in 2003, hasn’t missed a game since his second season. He turns 35 in May.

A 10-time Pro Bowler, he’s been both durable and productive over 223 career games. Witten has caught 63 career touchdown passes and has scored at least three touchdowns in each of the last seven seasons.

Love Witten and what he stands for; what he's done for us and where he'll end up. But I'm ready to add another dimension to the offense with a big receiver. I'd like that to be a 6-6 fast, mobile, agile hybrid TE but Jeffries, etc will do for now.

Yes, he will. I still want a more dynamic TE which I agree is a bit strange to say. No one is a bigger fan of Witten but he's not the most dynamic TE in the business. He has other attributes that make him successful and dangerous in his own way.
I would love @jobberone and I think you would too O.J. Howard he would definitely add that type of dimension at TE you're talking about but no way he falls to 28 to the Cowboys but one could only dream.

I wouldn't mind us moving up to get him, especially if he slides a few spots.

Would you guys be interested in Jared cook? He torched us, but some TEs do well against us.

Jordan Reed 95 yds 2 TDs
Ertz 139 yds 2 TDs

Jobberone the Packer TE and how he played us in the playoffs made me realize its, time to get Dak a big fast TE

I believe this is Witten's last season. He flirted with the idea openly after the playoff game and he only has one year left in his deal.

If it is, I hope he announces it before the season. It will give this young team a little extra motivation to win one for a guy they all adore.

Given the defensive needs I can't see any way to justify trading up for a TE.

If the opportunity is there to get him, I would be all over it. Drafting for need is football suicide. That's how we ended up with players like Shante Carver and Ebenezer Ekuban.

there's two specimens in this draft but I read it would take a middle 1st for one or low 1st for the other.
