Earlier this month, Cowboys defensive endJeremy Mincey declared that Tony Romo is “not Jesus.” Mincey apparently has since changed his tune.

“Romo made a difference; he made a difference,” Mincey said after Sunday’s win at Miami, via Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “He is the savior of our season.”

That’s a far cry from what Mincey had to say a couple of weeks ago, while Dallas was in the midst of losing seven straight games without their quarterback.

“We can’t sit and wait on Romo,” Mincey said. “He’s not Jesus. We can’t sit and wait on him.”

Nobody is Jesus except for the Lord Himself, but Tony can certainly be the savior of this football team when it comes to helping this team win. That was pretty obvious yesterday.

Thank you for your clarification. I don't like the "Jesus" references because I think it's like taking the Lord's name in vain. But I can understand the sentiment.

I just don't think the guys need to put this kind of pressure on Romo. And what does it say about Mincey that he and his colleagues couldn't win ONE game without Romo?

This is kind of silly. What else was Mincey supposed to say? "We're dog meat without Romo."

He was right that the team couldn't afford to wait on Romo, but I have no doubt he knew what a difference having him would make.

Yeah, it's a metaphor but does sound a bit sacrilegious.

Oh look, Florio is being messy again.
^This. I don't normally encourage violence like punching someone in the face but someone should just punch Florio dead in the face. It's not necessary to take comments out of context in order to "report" what's said.
