Cowboys ownership made it clear a lack of a pass rush cost them a chance to compete for a championship last year.

Thursday night, they got some signs one might be on the way.

According to Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, second-round pick Randy Gregory got consistent pressure, and recorded his first sack in the third quarter against the Chargers last night, which they hope becomes a regular thing.

“Hopefully,” Gregory said. “If I was a betting man, I’d say yeah, but obviously there’s a process with that. I’m going to enjoy that process. I’m going to work hard. They’re hard earned. They don’t come easy. You saw that today going up against even the second team and third team. They don’t come easy.”

Not to take anything away from Gregory, but that entire defensive line looked great on that play.

Good for Gregory. I hope that helps his confidence (if it was ever lacking). He actually got close to getting a couple more, according to these eyes.

Yep. He was actually a little stonewalled with the bull rush and the QB stepped up into him kinda. BUT....that's how it's supposed to work.

With that said.....you can't take away his awareness and hustle.

This kid has a motor. He's quick and has a Haley-esque shoulder dip that's amazing.

Right there is your Top RB pick. Those complaining about not getting a back need to look no further then Gregory. I will take the pass rushing LDE all day long over a good back.
