Show me other boards that say a first for him is a good idea.

I think thats asinine in just about every respect including reality.

The comment that the only reason this board is interested in him is because he went to Texas is the comment I'm elluding to.

The question of a 1st or a 2nd is irrelivant.

The fact is that other boards are interested in him and it would not be difficult for me to pull up threads indicating this from other boards. I simply think that it's not a true statement to say that the ONLY reason posters on this board are interested is because of where he went to school.

i think you misinterpret me brah. Im not saying that other teams wouldnt be intersted. of course they will be.I just think that they would also look at 85 or Moss as well with as much or more interest.

Around here it seems the concensus that he should be our top priority and give a first for him which is not what other teams fans are like.

Here me out on this one. We should get Chad Johnson, Roy Williams, or even Randy Moss. The conflict that people are talking about is the ego trip that would be going on between TO and either of the three players I mentioned above. TO wants a ring and I believe that he would put aside his differences with either receiver in order to get one. Not to mention players seem to get along when you are winning games. Just think if either of the three were in Crayton’s shoes we would have scored 7, and not to mention Romo would have had 37tds during the regular season (the dropped ball Crayton had against the bears). Nothing against Crayton, hes a good player and fun to watch, and it is defiantly good that we are going to keep him around, I say if we got a chance to load up this team lets do it now and get that ring next year and not wait another 3 or 4. If a big time receiver were to go down…ie TO at the end…you would still have one of the best in the game still playing and you could focus a lot more attention on that receiver…lets load this team up next year…Romo and company need a ring. I do agree with the CB situation. Offense is almost perfect, defense needs a little work.

I think we will get a big time reciever good thread:bow:

Williams is probably the best fit for the Cowboys, but not the most talented.

If I could pick any WR, I'd give our #22 for Steve Smith and just MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Yeah cause 'loading up' on WRs (Including Moss) worked so well for New England's superbowl championship this year.

I feel ya, on it, but I think we've got to shore up that secondary a bit more than we badly need a Moss or Johnson at WR opposite of T.O.

Maybe Roy for the right price.

Exactly! It almost worked for NE... but not quite. (weird huh... almost worked for philly - then almost worked for NE)

Seriously... what we need is a few brain transplants amongst players and coaches.... some nanomeds/bionics for the less gifted players :D

How is he a headcase, fuzzy? To me he wants to be an attn-*****, but can't cuz he plays in Det.

My issue with him is that he always seem to have some nagging injury. Other than that, I haven't really seen much of him that would make me wary.

As for the OP, I don't care about a big name receiver, so much as I want a younger, big play receiver.

Couldn't agree more WG. I don't care about a big name either. I want a younger big play receiver as well. Ocho Cinco and Randy Moss are too old for the length of contract they will carry with them.

As an aside, I don't believe that Chad Johnson would be a problem playing alongside T.O. As has been pointed out, they are friends and share the same agent plus Chad is used to sharing the ball some (see: T.J. Who's Ya Momma and Chris Henry when not suspended) if not the spotlight. He and T.O. would probably push each other like crazy but....he's too old for my liking plus the cap hit to Cincy would be unreasonable. They won't do a trade.

As for Randy Moss, the issues between he and T.O. are little different. I think a great deal of T.O.'s dislike for Moss stems from the lack of respect Moss shows to Jerry Rice. Moss has always downplayed the ability of Rice and was even worse after breaking the TD record this season. Owens respects and loves Rice and that would cause a problem should the two be in the same lockerroom. Then add in the massive egos and that just won't work.
