Hey BP thanks man!
I am running malware bytes right now. I was reading about the virus/malware on bleepingcomputer.com Apparently it is a real pain in the butt. Malware bytes apparently can zap it, but it is not as easy as just running the scan.
So this should be fun.
the real kicker is I am in the middle of building a new computer and selling this to my friend. I never have had viruses ever. I dont know how I got this one. Last night I was posting a response to nors "i talked to a scout" thread with a picture of girl scout cookies. My browser jumped to some girlscout shemale nonsense...no idea what happened but that is where it came from I think. I thought it was from my son clicking around on the disney cars movie site...but it isnt.
anyway I will let you know.
Hey this is actually a good break for you.
If you are selling the computer with a virus/spyware on it....you caught yourself a break.
Just reformat the hardrive and reload windows afterwards.
This will take everything off of the computer, including any personal information you may have had on it and forgotten.
When giving a computer to someone or selling a computer to someone it is always best to completely reformat the hard drive and reinstall the Operating system and updates.
That way they get a completely clean computer and you don't have to worry about them finding something personal of yours because you forgot to take it off.
This also eliminates hours of you trying to get rid of a nasty virus/spyware.
Just reformat the hard drive, reinstall windows, do your windows updates and you are good to go and guaranteed to be virus/spyware free.
