Has a #6 seed went on to win the superbowl (broken in 2005 and 2010 by the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers)

Has a team gone 5 straight weeks without scoring a TD, and won a superbowl (broken in 2000 by the Baltimore Ravens)

Has a player held out of games, and still won a rushing title (broken in 1993 by our own Emmitt smith, on the way to a superbowl no less)

Has the superbowl mvp gone to a player on the losing team (broken by Chuck Howley of our very own Dallas Cowboys)

Has a team gone an entire season without a wr catching a TD (broken last year by the Kansas City chiefs)

There are plenty more examples, but the point I'm trying to make is that there are always records that have never been broken and things that have never happened in nfl history, until somebody actually does it. So yes while it's true no team has ever went to the playoffs at 2-6, at some point it has to happen right? Why not us? Why not our cowboys?

Because we suck that's why. Because we're a football atrocity. A disgrace to the star. An EMBARASSMENT. We find the most inexplicable ways to lose football games. We can't execute. We can't have an all around game. We can't score enough touchdowns. Can't create takeaways. We give it away too much. We are not a good football team. To subject Romo to this would be cruel and unfair to him.

Any of this 'hope' talk died with this loss. There was hope if we could have won this game, but they lost it. It's unfair to Romo to expect him to win out, and have the NYG/Eagles to continue to lose. We're only having these fantasy thoughts because the NFC East is so weak, but eventually one of these teams will break away, and they already have a 3 game lead on us

That's fine, but all I'm asking is for people to address the fact that it is possible. Somebody has to be the first team to break this 2-6 playoff curse.

I agree, however just looking at our schedule we've got some tough matchups, Bills, Jets, GB, Carolina and the Skins 2xs. No question Romo will keep us in the game but, there will be times where the defense has to step up in crucial moments. I just can't see it with our defense, we drop picks, take poor angles or are just gassed.

There is a chance I can win the lottery tommorrow too. I highly doubt I will.

Yeh, I get what you are saying. Having a chance and having a realistic chance are two different things. Had we won tonight, we would have had a realistic chance.

Good grief. Over react much? An embarrassment? A football atrocity? Disgrace to the star? I know this season has been a major disappointment but c'mon man! This team has fought pretty hard in everyone of their losses.Their season is indeed over. It took a major hit when Dez went down. And the kill shot was when Romo went down, we just didn't realize it at the time. And beleive it or not. This is still a good football team when all of its personnel is available. As good as we thought when the season started? Probably not. But if Dunbar,Romo,Dez and as Scanny all play every game this year. There's maybe only 3-4 teams that are actually better than the Cowboys.

If this team actually showed something then I might agree with you. However, this team has shown that it's absolutely nothing without Romo and our idiot coach continues to find new ways to lose and then praises the team afterwards.

Enough with this participation trophy BS.

How am I overreacting? This team lost six straight games. Spare me the excuses. Every team deals with injuries. Good teams find a way to overcome them. I mean damn we just needed one win against a bad Eagles team and we couldn't even do it. Blew another game against two other subpar teams in the Giants and Saints. The fact of the matter is this team is garbage. They're garbage. I have no respect for them. They aren't this bad talent wise, but when you don't play smart, sound football your talent doesn't matter. That's what this situation is. I would give away some of these bums for a 12 pack of Big Red. They're not even worth that. Id give this coaching staff away for a a bag of chicken. They are pathetic.

Our team doesn't suck, at least not with Romo... Over this season and last season, we're 15-4 with Romo as the starter... What's our record if Romo had started every game? 7-1, or 6-2 maybe... It's a tough hill to climb, but if any 2-6 team could do it, it would be this one, because we most defenitely do not suck when healthy...

Obviously all of us would love it if we miraculously made the playoffs. What we don't want is to go 7-9 or 8-8 (the two more realistic 'best case scenarios'). still miss the playoffs and have a worse draft pick. Not that I want them to sink on purpose, but if you're going to lose, may as well do it spectacularly.

So tony romo comes back and you think it's more realistic that he goes 4-3 over his last 7 games? Have you forgotten just how freaking good tony romo is?

He has to play at Green Bay who hasn't lost at home in three years. Vs undefeated Carolina on a short week. At Buffalo. At Miami. Two games against the Commanders who always play us tough. Home against the Jets.

i don't see more than four wins there.

No, our team is not that good. That's all Romo.

It's pretty freaking pathetic though that our team has to rely on one player to do everything.

I feel so bad for the guy and never more so than this year for getting stuck with this turd sandwich of a team and coaching staff that couldn't even squeak out one win without him to make his job a little easier.

The Cowboys are 2-6 right now. What else would you call them?

They've had injuries boo hoo. Every team does. Nobody is really ever completely healthy. A true SB contender wouldn't lose six straight games and flat out give away four of them.

That's not really true... Yes our team has lost 6 straight games, but they have been close to winning most of those games, a healthy Romo and Dez put us over that hump and actually get us those wins... It's a QB driven league...

Whatever man... Would this team suck with Romo or not? No... You said we cant go on a win streak because we "suck", my point is that when we have Romo, we obviously don't suck...
