The more I hear Mickey talk about Demarcus, the more I appreciate what we have in him. He is going to be our Lawrence Taylor cleaned up, dressed up, smelling good, and talking good. A complete player. Not just a sack master.

They talked about how Peyton tried to get that first down when they had 3rd & 2 but Demarcus put a stop to that. It wasn't Peyton trying to be cute (my words) ... it was Ware shutting that crap down.

I'm glad there is someone out there helping me see what we have in our defensive players. Individual stats will get you on the talking heads list; on Sportscenter and whatnot. But good team defense will get you in the tournament and the possibilities are endless.:starspin

I'm glad we've got the Playmaker giving us our shine. Ballin!!!!!

Actually they showed it either on NFL Network or ESPN, about that play if I remember right? I am not sure where I saw it, they showed he not only bumped Clark off his route, but really totally then eliminated Reggie Wayne from his route. Thats why Peyton had to throw it away since by that time, Jason Hatcher was about to sack Peyton, and it was 4th and 2 I believe

I saw the same play on ESPN several times Sunday night.....knockin two would be receivers off their routes was a remarkable play. :)

Ware is getting sacks and providing frequent (not constant) pressure but I do think he needs to develop more moves to keep tackles more off balance. He seems to get caught up with the bullrush and locks on to the tackle for too long.
Someone posted the Haley talking to Ware article, and while I realize Ware has outside contain, if we stunted him and had him rush to the inside once or twice a game I think his sack total would really rise quickly.

Yep. But I thought that play was on the 3rd & 2 and then came the 4th & 2. Anyway, Demarcus is being shaped into the complete player and I really appreciate it.

No, it wouldn't rise a whole lot, since Ware is doing a lot more than just lining up and trying to sack the QB. He seems to finally getting recognization for the other stuff he is doing.

If you see Merriman, for those comparing him to Merriman, Merriman is far more limited in what he does. Plus his sacks mostly don't come against OL. Out of his 8 sacks, I think maybe 2-3 are against a OL. Rest of them or blitzes or against RBs etc.

Merriman is good, but he is not all that. I get a kick out of some of the Analysts annointing him as the best Defensive Players in NFL. Thats load Carp. I would put First Julius Pepper and then Jason Taylor. Rest of them come third to them in any discussion right now.

Now its not to put down Merriman as no good player, but he is not the player as the media hypes him to be. Just like Jeremy Shockey.

I'm glad Ware is finally getting some recognition around the media... and here at that.

Maybe people wouldnt have expected too much from him early if BP never made the comparison to #56.
