New Coach?

If the Saints embarrass the Cowboys in Dallas, I wouldn't expect Sean Payton to want to coach our team. That game could be more important than we think. Then again, he probably re-signs with the Saints, anyway.

So besides two of our best players, they're better?!

And Romo is 1,000,000,000,000x better than any of their QBs.

Witten is a potential HOF TE and it's a push?

How are you going to compare the talent of both teams when you just go out and disqualify some of our best guys?

At the end of the day, both teams have a lot of talented players on both sides of the ball. And alot are former 1st round picks.

The difference is that their coaches get the most out of those players and ours get the least.

Okay who did I miss? Oh, sorry Sean Lee. Yeah, we have talent but the 49ers are the better overall team. We need better players on the trenches. Safties too.

I truly believe there's no college coach who can get this team to win now. Payton can or another coach with experience. Plus, did it ever occur to you that the 49ers have smarter players than us? Do you see them going out every game averaging 9 penalties a game?

Does their QB get sacked or knocked down as many times as Romo? Do we get the pressure, sacks, and turnovers the 49ers do? The talent difference is along the OL and DL's mostly. That's very important in winning football games.

We have a lot of talent but the major problem with this team is the trenches and our safties.

Agree with you there.

I'm on board with the Nick Saban contingent. Really the only blemish on Saban's entire coaching record at any level is his stint with the Dolphins. I think he'd be so motivated to redeem his legacy that this would drive him to success. Plus he's a 3-4 guy so we wouldn't have to drastically revamp our defense.

If Saban is my pipe dream choice, Sean Payton would have to be my realistic choice. It's been well documented that he has a strong relationship with Stephen Jones, he owns a home in Dallas, and his kids now reside in the metroplex. Never underestimate what a divorced father would do career wise to be able to see his kids more often. I would be thrilled if Payton is brought on as the next HC and hires Tony Sparano as his OC, assuming the entire Jets staff gets gutted. Jason Garrett has thoroughly demonstrated why the HC shouldn't be the play caller in today's NFL.

2 Seasons, .500 record with Joey Harrington and Cleo Lemon QBing his team. He made chicken salad out of chicken **** with that team.

This clown is who we have to thank for Jason Garrett, NFL coach.

No based on that principle.

lotta truth in what you said.....I agree that Saban got a bad rap during his first stint in the NFL, look at Belicheck or even Pete Carroll, it all depends on the situation. I think Saban would come in with the respect of being a winner, defensive minded, disciplinarian, skins on the wall, a great staff he can bring with him, AND a knowledge of the college talent----remind you of anyone??? Yes ole Jimmy Johnson. Of course, Jerry would have to make a deal with the devil and lose some of his control.....but I'm beginning to think he is getting a bit desperate and beginning to feel his ego being bruised.

But realistically, his #1 option would be Sean Payton----I think he trusts him enough to give him more control than any other coach has had this side of Jimmy Johnson. Face it, even a wildcatter like Jethro hits on a homerun without realizing it.

I vote for Jon Gruden. He's had experience w/ a whacko Owner/GM (Al Davis, Jerry's mnetor when he first came into the NFL) like Jerry. Whomever comes here has to be able to outsmart Jerry...
