Now we just need safeties:laugh:

Hopefully he is better at identifying talent in prospects and free agents, as well as having a loud enough voice to convince Garrett, Jones, and McClay.

My only concern is that he has coached in a 3-4 scheme the last several years. Not a huge concern, just changes a few things coverage wise.

I'm impressed, 13 posts and not one wondering why someone would leave Michigan to come work for our inept coach and GM.

During his tenure with San Fran they drafted safeties Collin Jones 2011, Trent Robinson 2012, Eric Reed 2013, and Jimmy Ward in 2014. You could also count Dontae Johnson in the 2014 draft but he was a CB/FS type. Of this group, only Reed has been a stand out. Who knows how much influence if any he had on drafting these kids though.

Won't say I'm underwhelmed, as I think this hiring is a move in the right direction. Just had hoped for more, not sure if now moving Baker to coach CB's is a positive move. Although I'm sure they will spin it that way. Think Jackson is a better coach for the Safeties for sure. But would have liked to see someone like Nolan or Lewis come on board as well .... guess we will see. My point is I think we need a new philosophy for the secondary as a whole, not just the Safeties.
One step in the right direction I guess, I will be happy about that.
