New DC with an emphasis on the passing game/secondary?

Jim Leonhard at Wisconin: Defensive coordinator (2017–2022)
  • Regularly top-5 nationally in total defense and scoring defense (4 out of 5 seasons)
  • #1 nationally in total yards allowed (multiple seasons)
  • #1 in pass efficiency defense over his tenure
  • Top 3 nationally against the run
  • Consistently elite on third down and in the red zone

The DC search is far from limited to Jim Leonard I think. This Jonathan Cooley guy at the Panthers is a legit DC candidate. I hear we are interviewing him. Smart cat. Loves teaching. Karl Scott in Seattle too. Love how we are looking everywhere for top coaching talent.

Well Buffalo is the favorite going into Denver so possibly this time next week we have ourselves a DC. Or we pounce on Flores on Wednesday when he’s allowed to talk.

I agree. Daronte Jones and Ephraim Banda already fulfill the Rooney rule; both came from non-playoff teams so I am assuming those were in-person interviews. But the interest in Jonathan Cooley at least shows they aren't putting all their eggs in the Leonhard basket.
No I think all were zoom calls. I could be wrong but don’t think I am :(
And they still have their usual cheap internal option that they “think highly of” in Whitecotton.

Hey I’m just happy eberflus is gone. Now let’s find some healthy, competent DB’s and we’re back in business.

Buffalo has a tall task in beating that Denver Defense.

Did you just say our "HC" who cheerleaders and high 5s the players constantly thinks Harris coddled the players!

Sounds like Shotty suffers from the same illness of zero self awareness old Jerry has.
It's been reported by Bobby Belt before and also stated Cowboys were not happy with Diggs rehab work...

Jerry likes Shotty because of his politics.

He is a great OC too.

The defense was a disaster, because we basically had TWO head coaches. Shotty (offense/ST) and Eber (defense)
Politics? Please explain.

I agree with you in spirit. We need more DE’s and definitely LB’s.

Out of curiosity. Let’s say Caleb Downs is available with #12 though. You ok with taking him?

Otherwise yes I want DE and LB with the first two picks.

Depends on who the first 11 picks were but I am not against taking him there.

Schotty and Harris didn't get along, thought Harris coddled players..
That is only a rumor. There was no real proof that Harris coddled any of the players. I assume he left because they did not conduct a proper DC search and excluded him from coaching the players his way.
