I have this sick feeling in my stomach, and I have had it ever since the outcome of that game. I feel as though that loss will haunt us the way the Skins loss haunted us last season.

We beat the Skins and we end up with the #1 seed and HFA throughout the playoffs. We get a bye week, and we still probably play Detroit, but could have also had Carolina, I believe. Then, we get the winner of the GB/Seattle game, after they have both beaten each other up......and we get the game in our friendly confines. I honestly believe that had we beaten the Skins, we would have played NE in the SB last year.

So, now onto NO. They are a suckfest of a team. We should have won the game. Had we done so, we would be 3-2 right now, 3-1 in the NFC, 2-0 in the NFC East. It would have bought us a little extra time to get Dez and Romo back. I am not so worried about the NFC East standings. I firmly believe we will beat the Giants and Eagles again. If Cassel can make some vertical passing plays and we can run the ball better, we can beat Seattle, and we should beat the Bucs. That would put us at 7-4......instead of 8-3. With Atlanta, Carolina, GB, and Arizona playing so well, that extra game can be a real killer when it comes to seeding.

Probably. I don't even care about seeding, I think if we can just get in we'll be fine. We're a great road team.

I just think it *might* prevent us from getting in. Especially if we drop one or both against the Eagles/Giants.

Currently the Cowboys have 2 conference losses and if the Saints hang in they'll own a tiebreaker over the Cowboys. The Cowboys have 11 games left and 8 of them are conference games. The Cowboys are already digging themselves a hole for a wildcard because you're competing against a number of teams and have to win tie breakers. We've seen 10 and 11 win teams miss the playoffs from losing wildcard tiebreakers.

Been saying it since the Saints loss the Cowboys are going to have to win the division to make the playoffs. It may only take 8-9 wins to win the division and 8-9 wins will only get you a wildcard if you can win some tiebreakers. A loss to the Giants will not only hurt the Cowboys divisional chances but their wildcard chances.

Right now seeding is the least of my worries with this team. I just want to get into the dance with everyone healthy. Plenty of teams have gone on the road every week and won in the playoffs in recent history. The Giants were a 9 - 7 team and took that all the way to a Lombardi.

Just win our division. That's pretty much the only way we'll get into the playoff. Just beat everyone in our division....TWICE!

I'm with you @Biggems .....it's part of the reason why it's unforgivable to me that the organization decided to bring Weeden back.

Concur it any game comes back to haunt, it will be that one. OTOH Romo may not make it back until it no longer matters.

Pro football is the ultimate "hindsight 20/20 game".

Any and every loss could "haunt us" at some point down the road. Same applies to every team every year.

I'm not going to get worked up over a specific loss one way or the other. They all suck.

And as a fan of a particular team, it's always easy to focus on the games that we lost but "should have" won, and overlook the wins that maybe should've been losses.

We are where we are and are still in position to win the division. THAT is what's important.

Nothing anyone can do about it now. Just move on and try to get in the playoffs regardless.

Agreed 100 percent.

Losing to the 5-11 Rams in 1992 didn't come back to haunt us. Losing to the 4-12 Commanders didn't come back to haunt us. Losing to the 6-10 Commanders twice in 1995 didn't come back to haunt us.

It certainly does no good to rue losses from 3 weeks ago.

I put that on Garrett, as a former QB he just has to see Weeden didn't have it and needed to reload. All that time invested gone to waste.

Seriously. If you're going to rue one loss you might as well rue them all.

And it's not a given that everything else would've played out the same had we won one of those games that we lost. Know what I'm saying? Domino affect stuff.

People rue the Washington loss from last year. But if we win that game maybe things play out differently? We wouldn't necessarily go on to win every game that we ended up winning after that. It's really just a painful exercise that football fans put themselves through.

These things are just the reality of an NFL season.

I didn't hear him giving back the Giants win.

That is a game teams lose 97 out of 100 times.

NO was winnable but we were down a starting QB, WR, DE, DE, MLB. WLB, CB3, RG

Exactly. No one's giving back the W over the Giants but we're rueing the L to the Saints. We could've easily lost both of those games...or won both of them. That's why going through this is a futile exercise.

Again, pro football is the ultimate "hindsight 20/20" game.
