I have this sick feeling in my stomach, and I have had it ever since the outcome of that game. I feel as though that loss will haunt us the way the Skins loss haunted us last season.

We beat the Skins and we end up with the #1 seed and HFA throughout the playoffs. We get a bye week, and we still probably play Detroit, but could have also had Carolina, I believe. Then, we get the winner of the GB/Seattle game, after they have both beaten each other up......and we get the game in our friendly confines. I honestly believe that had we beaten the Skins, we would have played NE in the SB last year.

So, now onto NO. They are a suckfest of a team. We should have won the game. Had we done so, we would be 3-2 right now, 3-1 in the NFC, 2-0 in the NFC East. It would have bought us a little extra time to get Dez and Romo back. I am not so worried about the NFC East standings. I firmly believe we will beat the Giants and Eagles again. If Cassel can make some vertical passing plays and we can run the ball better, we can beat Seattle, and we should beat the Bucs. That would put us at 7-4......instead of 8-3. With Atlanta, Carolina, GB, and Arizona playing so well, that extra game can be a real killer when it comes to seeding.

Don't really feel like the Skins game haunted us at all. We lost to Green Bay because of the no catch call and Demarco fumbling when he had 50 yards and zero defenders in front of him.

No way. Idgit says there are no must-win games in October.

On the flip side, if they had won that game, Weed might still be the a QB causing them to lose more of the upcoming games.

You do know that Murray scored another TD later in the game that gave DAL an 82% probability of winning the game.

Yeah I watched the game several times I saw that. He still fumbled with 50 yards and no defenders in front of him which imo hurt us just as bad as the Dez no catch call

So it had nothing to do with the TDs we allowed to a hobbled Rodgers late in the game. Gotcha.

Talk about misplaced rueage.

I'm glad you brought this up. There where some that were swearing New Orleans was a decent team and that we did good playing them tight. The saints are horrid.

We were ( til the GB game ) Undefeated on the Road, so why would playing at home make a difference? Also, last time we got a Bye, it didn't work out too well for us. Skins game meant zilch. The ruling of a catch being called an incomplete pass is what doomed our season.

It's funny to me how many people dismiss playoff seeding as if it's completely irrelevant.

Getting a 1st round bye then hosting the divisional round is an ENORMOUS advantage.

It normally is, but we overcame it pretty well last year.

We didn't lose because the game was at GB.

I honestly believe if the Dez catch wasnt overruled erroneously we would have played NE in the Super Bowl. AND WE BEAT THE CHEATERS!

I feel the same way. There was something abut last year and the fact no one wanted to play the Cowboys at the end of the season.

It just felt like if we could have made it past the infamous non-catch we may have been in for a big surprise.

Maybe we'd have won by 10 if the game was in Dallas and if we had a bye the previous week. We'll never know.

What we DO know is that getting a 1st round bye is better than having to play in the Wild Card round and earn your trip to the Divisional round.

Especially since that 1st round bye comes with a home game in the Divisional round AND the possibility of a home game in the NFC Championship.

That's what bothers me most about the Romo/Dez injuries. We might still make the playoffs (assuming Cassel can lead us to win at least a couple games), but our chances of getting a bye are pretty much dead.

The Washington loss haunted us all the way to a 12-4 record.

Bad post, slugger.

It's also something that is virtually impossible with this team in this situation. At this point lamenting a particular loss without Romo or Dez seems a bit like putting the cart in front of the horse. Maybe after we win a couple of games we can talk about the one loss that really hurt, right now we are winless in a month and praying we can stay afloat long enough to get our key guys back.

Exactly. Getting to the playoffs at all would be huge win right now.

Dez isn't back, Romo isn't back and Randle/DMC is back.

We lost the NO game on the flip of a coin. You can't beat up your team, with 11 games left to play because of that loss.
