Great. Protects the players.

Meanwhile, let's have them play games on three days rest some more.

What defines egregious? That's the thing. I really hope this is rarely ever used.

I imagine it will be defined as something like where you leave your feet and lead with your helmet without making any effort to wrap up. Basically jumping to blindly spear people in the head.

My fear is it won't be consistent throughout the officiating teams.

If this is only for the worst of the worst fine but I don't want to see a bunch of players being thrown out of games for BS roughing calls where a QB may crouch down into a big hit to the head.

Thing is - this sport needs to embrace that its modern day gladiator battle. Fight to the death if necessary. The players are paid obscene amounts of money to sacrifice their bodies. The competition should not suffer because of pansy rules being added like this.

Whats next. Flags or maybe they should be wearing skirts!! Its outrageous, the sizzle playing offensive players have too many advantages already.

When will fans rise up to fight against these rules that are eliminating the gladiator style of the game?

I tell you the NFL is dying. You can't take the hitting out of football and expect it to be the same sport.

So, can/will they at least review the hit before confirming the ejection?

This is already used in college football and it is horrible. It is very inconsistent and in most cases it is over-punishing for plays that happen in fractions of a second.

I agree..... players try to avoid hits and move the target....... most aren't intentional

I know you are being sarcastic but ejecting the player doesn't undo the egregious hit...... the damage is already done

Hopefully they only use for repeat offenders or people that are clearly out out hurt someone . Like Odella when he went after Norman the Doorman .
