here are the most recent transactions

+ R. Seymour OG
- V. Mayle WR

+ R. Ash DT
- R. Davis DE

+ R. Gregory DE
- Z. Moore DE

+ Z. Moore DE
- C. Green OT

+ D. McFadden RB
- D. Jackson RB

+ V. Mayle WR
- G. Swaim TE

+ L. McFadden CB
- R. Smith FB

does it make sense to replace L. Collins with someone above or release someone like M. Sanchez?

do we really need 3 QB's?

I don't think Seymour even saw the field yesterday so I would think that if and when Collins is ready, he'd Ben the cut.

I'll keep saying this until it doesn't happen. Our O-line next year should be: Smith, Leary, Frederick, Martin and Collins

My guess: Smith, Collins, Frederick, Martin, Free or FA.

Haven't read anything that indicates Dallas believes Collins is an NFL tackle. And Dallas can't afford to have high priced talent at 4 OL positions; even if TR is off the roster, the D needs more resources.

Doubt we spend on Leary. What we could really use is a great blocking TE. Free looked better when we had Swain ... And he's just average at this point with his blocking.

There are the players that are still with the team and not on IR.

They only promoted Seymour for the final game because they didn't want to play Leary. Looney is the primary backup OG/OC. Cleary can play OG and OT.

It cant be that simple. They would very easily be able to determine if he was in rehab or not.
He claims that's the reason.

If he was an in-patient, he's fine. If he was an out-patient, he's gone.

Procedural issue most likely. Procedure is to issue notice of pending suspension. Appeal allows player to provide evidence - I expect this requires release of his records at rehab - he was likely tested there regularly. That's my best guess here.

I do think the team believes he's winning the appeal as they'd not waste the energy on getting him integrated in the D if it was just for a few games

Next year's OL will be Smith, Collins, Frederick, Martin, Green with Cleary taking over if/when Green goes down.

I'm reading up on the NFL substance abuse policy

  • A medical advisor is responsible for scheduling all tests and ensuring the player is notified when testing is to take place. A player who fails to appear for required testing without a valid reason as determined by the medical advisor will be subject to discipline as set forth in Appendix E.

  • Appendix E: When a Player fails to appear for testing, the Parties, in consultation with the Medical Advisor, will determine the nature of the failure and the degree of the Player’s culpability. If the failure to appear is determined to have been a deliberate effort to evade or avoid testing, then the failure will be treated as a Section 1.5 violation, subject to appeal. For other cases, the failure will be treated as follows:
  • Unless a warning is issued, the first time a Player fails to appear for testing, he will be fined up to $25,000 under his NFL Player Contract and will be placed into the Intervention Program.
  • A second failure to appear for testing will result in a fine of two-seventeenths (2 /17) of the Paragraph 5 amount in his NFL Player Contract.
  • A third violation will result in a four (4) game suspension without pay.

If he was indeed in rehab this appeal should be an open and close case.

The story is not that simple.

I think the drug tester showed up at rehab but Gregory had been given 2 days off from rehab. Gregory's side is claiming miscommunication was the problem. Bell in Pittsburgh claimed that he changed phone numbers and that was enough to get a suspension either reduced or eliminated.

Wish Green wasnt so brittle. Outstanding OT. Cant trust him to stay on the field
