I could just see him with a Cowboy helmet on and the stupid look on his face that he carries after doing something brainless...

Makes my stomach churn in discomfort.

As I read the article I thought it was crazy to expect more money than Roethlisberger, but he didn't have bad stats last season and the never getting injured thing is huge. Giants just didnt pass the eyeball test last year I think it's time to put Coughlin out to pasture.

I would seriously rather Ryan Leaf come back and play in his prison jumpsuit with pads on top. Or roll Vinny Testaverde out with a walker with the tennis balls on the bottom of the legs.

Too early on Monday for this, but I laughed at it.

:):):):)

Although I think the original post is just troll bait I actually think Eli is a pretty good QB. Better than average, although not nearly as good as Romo. And if you watch that Romo scramble video just imagine Eli behind those lines taking sack after sack - or more likely throwing the ball away blindly to avoid sacks. Eli would be OK behind our line now, but not nearly as good as what we've got.

Sorry the community here isn't open minded, I guess.

I like it just the way it is, personally.

But for your part, just mind the guidelines and you should be ok. We're fairly permissive, but we're not stupid.

Eli of 4 or 5 years ago sure maybe. But right now he is not better than romo and I would say he is much more mistake prone under pressure. He has benefited from very good defenses and running games when they won the two SB.

Manning won with great defense and short fields / plus a miracle catch.
The Giants, like the article said, do not need the CAP room this year.
They can franchise him next year if they want. JPP on the tag this year.
When he re-signs with Giants whenever that is he will take at least 20% of their CAP.

Giants missed playoffs 6 times in the last 8 years.

Giants missed the playoffs last 3 years.

If this year is no different, I don't think we are keeping Coughlin or Reese. If that's the case, why not let this season play out and see where the team lands. Based on the results this year decide on Coughlin's and Reese's fate and if your decision is to let them go, allow your new GM/coach combo make the call on Eli. You can always franchise him if you have to.

By the way I thought this Eli/Romo comparisons were dead. Somehow this board loves to compare the two :)

Agreed, two different QBs, different style QBs, different Pedigree of QBs. If I was Eli I would be pissed that I am constantly being compared to some UDFA QB from BFE Wisconsin that played Div 2 ball. :)
