I just don't get these guys... too much talent to be that bad. I understand the lack of a pass rush is a problem but come on. I would love to know the QB rating of Warner and Hassleback. We are making these guys look way too good.

The thing I don't get is how Wrs pull away from Newman on crossing routes and he is supposed to have world class speed.

Exactly. I've always wondered that about T-New, ive never really seen his speed become an asset on the football field, at ALL. And this is coming from his biggest supporter when he was drafted.

I hope he at least becomes a punt return killer, because I'm officially starting to worry about him. I hope its just the scheme, but it sure did look like they were in a man on that crossing route.

Just simmer down now, you TNew non-believers. The kid can play football. I saw almost every game he played in college. He has speed. Not just straitline speed, but football speed in pads. This guy shuts down every stud he faced. This is pre-season. Who knows what the coaches are trying right now. I'll agree that tonight he seemed behind the recievers. He was not the only one. I'm really not that worried about our defense. It will take 3 or 4 complete real games for these guys to get it together. I have not been this excited about a young defense in a long time. I'm willing to put up with a few bone head or busted plays by our guys as they learn. Anyway, don't worry about TNew. He will be just fine.

As for Henry he seemed to keep getting beat on quick passes off the line. For some reason they had him back on like a 10 yard cushion. Henry plays best when he bumps at the line, so I assume this is just a preseason thing.

I was unimpressed with TNews closing speed as well. I saw more than one WR pull away from him on crossing routes.

Ummm.....look at all of the plays where their QB didn't have anywhere to throw the ball.

I would call that doing their job.

Agree 100% Our season rides on the performance of our O-line. From JJ to Drew (either) if we can not provide very good to great protection for our QB and open a few slivers for JJ to scamper through it will be a very frustrating season. I hope the Defense understands (I believe it does) our Offense is going to be up and down just like our Defense will make bone headed plays or overrun plays (Dat and his missed sack, cut-backs by RB's still hurting us)

Our corners will be fine. We are in a brand new scheme with lots of new players; it takes time. Also, we face these guys in the regular season, so we can't show too much on either side of the ball. Throw Fergy and Spears in the rotation along the DL and things will be fine.

you practice like you play and preseason will show in the real season

so I dont completely excuse it for preseason... you will look how you play in preseason, practice, etc.

the borderline players should tell parcells it is only preseason and their true self will come out in the real games so they wont be cut LOL

I thought Newman and Henry both played pretty well. The Seahawks were able to beat some zone coverage in the middle of the field and man coverage against the linebackers and safeties. How is that the fault of Newman and Henry?

I saw Newman get beat once in the slot. This is a new position for him. I expect him to get beat sometimes while he is learning how to play the slot. It is a difficult position to play because of all the traffic and not being able to use the sideline.

The cornerback position is not one I worry about. Right tackle, QB, FS and inside linebackers are the positions that concern me.

I don't think you can say they make Hasselback look good. He just is good. He looks really comfortable running that offense.
