Newman as WR

A few points and corrections:

1. Newman is fast and he is much faster than Austin. How come everyone thinks Austin is a speed burner? He isn't.
2. Newman's hands are ok, not great or anything.
3. Newman doesn't look like he can adjust to the ball very well to me. Does he to you?
4. Newman is injury prone.
5. Newman is pretty good in the open field and making people miss.

Conclusion: Not a good idea.

Why Not? Mediocre hands. Injury prone. Not fluid or natural at adjusting to the ball.

Actually Austin is fast. Faster than any of the WRs. I don't know if he's faster than TNew although I do know he's one of the fastest guys on the roster. Losing Austin was a big deal.

I dont think it is a bad idea at all. The OP even said he would not BE a WR, just slide in on some package situations. We all know we need a deep threat. Well, Newman could probably get deep.

I'm all for it if he comes in at WR a few times this next season

Jerry wanted to take a wr last year, Hardy or Sweed, but instead of trading up in the second rd he stayed put and took Bennett.

Would Hardy or Sweed made as big of an impact as Bennett did?

You can't just switch playrers around like that. They are the best at what they do because they have been doing it all their lives or carrers.
