Is it just me or does it seem that Newman is taking his man out of the game. I see pass after pass at Henry and Glenn, but nobody seems to throw anything at T-NEW. If they do throw it it's not completed. Is he playing that well, or has it just been a fluke through these first two games.

lol wow the views on T-New are completely 180 on this board. Me, I tend to agree with these fellas. Theres a reason not that many passes are thrown at him.

It seemed like they never threw to the Guy T-New was covering after that INT he got against the Commanders.

I can't say anything about the Chargers game since I couldn't watch it.

It's you. You must have missed the passes that were caught on Newman. He found it hard to keep up with Moss too.
And the Int, was all on the QB, he did not see Newman sitting underneath, all he saw was his WR and the safety behind him.
But that is what a pass rush does for you, they also block the QB's view as well as pressure him.

Both Corners played well and they both had passes completed on them.
I think Henry baits the QBs and the receivers.

I thought he played well. I know of at least one play in the skins game where he followed the guy in motion, then let him go while RW blitzed I believe, and no one picked the WR in motion up. Not sure if TNew was expecting help or what, but he chased him down.

I think TNew gets the same respect that Glover gets around here.

Little to none........inexplicably.

It's NOT you. Newman had no such trouble keeping up with Moss. If Moss caught any passes on Newman at all it was ONE catch for 9 yards. Moss had 5 catches for a total of 159 yards and the following is a breakdown of how he got those.

1. M.Brunell pass to S.Moss to WAS 23 for no gain (D.Nguyen). Quick out left flat.

2. M.Brunell pass to S.Moss ran ob at DAL 38 for 41 yards. Pass complete right sideline following scramble. This was on Aaron Glenn.

3. M.Brunell pass to S.Moss ran ob at WAS 33 for 9 yards. Pass complete right sideline. This is the ONLY one that MAY have been on Newman. Can't tell for sure because it doesn't say who tackled since he was ran out of bounds.

4. M.Brunell pass to S.Moss for 39 yards, TOUCHDOWN. We all know who the other two catches were on.

5. M.Brunell pass to S.Moss for 70 yards, TOUCHDOWN. Aaron Glenn/Roy Williams again.

What's your agenda against Newman dude? You just don't like the guy or are you upset that Dallas chose him instead of Leftwich or Suggs? This is the second time in as many weeks that you've been found lacking in your recollection of the facts as far as #41 goes.

Newman is playing better than last year. But he tends to get beat on comeback routes a tad much for me. It seems when he tries to look into the backfield he loses the WR. A couple of plays the WR's just dropped the ball when they beat him.

To me he's not playing bad. Heck outside of those two TD's no one in the secondary is playing bad. I just want him to make plays on the ball in man to man more often. I guess Henry is raising my expectations.

I did'nt see alot of passes on TNEW, matter of fact Moss only had one catch prior to the 4th Quarter, so I had to agree that TNEW and Herny are doing a very good job so far this season.

Newman was a monster inside which is why Dallas kept him there in $.05 packages. He'd consistently redirect one guy and jump to cover another. The TE and slant plays were not a factor on 3rd down.

The mistake Newman made was biting on the run on that 4th and 2 and allowing a completion.

I've always defended the Newman draft pick, 'course that got real hard last year, I'm real confident in Newman's improvement, but let's keep in mind, this was against C+ B- recievers, we'll see how TNew does against the likes of Owens, Moss, Fitzgerald, Roy Williams(Det), Plaxico Burress, and Steve Smith.

I saw some completions against T-New against SD... I might be overreacting a bit about T-New, but I'll give him a little more time. I guess I'm expecting more than I should at this juncture, but all in all, the zone defense looks to be giving up too many yards IMO... Maybe the pass rush will improve as time goes on...

Newman hasn't been thrown at very much....

Why?

Because the other teams see on film what the average fan doesn't see. He's a VERY good cornerback.

They don't throw his way very often out of respect for his skills.

You hit the nail on the head, our soft zone-D is one of the reasons Moss streaked by our DBs. I thought our pass-rush did just fine.

Yeah , bunch of followers on this board too. No offense but , as soon as one player starts doing good. A lot of people jump on the wagon. Also when a player makes one mistake he is the worst draft pick ever blah blah blah , and if he is a veteran he is washed up. C'mon people any team can win on any day. Look what the Skins did to us. Complete B.S , we have been blowing leads for a good 4 or 5 years now. Why is everyone so surprised? I was getting worried when our choke moment would come up. It happens every game to our team. :( We almost lost to the Chargers man. But our D actually finished that game. Message to Dallas: If your gonna choke , do it early. Or not at all. I'm tired of ESPN always picking the same teams to win a Super Bowl. Lets prove em wrong. Shut em' all up. The road to forty is in your hands. TAKE IT DAM]\[!T

He's doing a good job right now. He can and hopefully will get better. He certainly does not put fear in the opposing teams.

I do not know why some of you think that he is this great Corner right now, He is not.

I think Newman is playing pretty well this year. Teams dont seem to be picking on him like they seemed to do last year. For some reason SD wanted to throw mostly to Henry's side, maybe they saw something in the film or wanted to test him out early.

I still would like to see Newman move to the outside and Glenn move to the inside or at least during crunch time, put Newman or Henry on the oppositions best Wide Receiver.

At this point in time, Newman is not costing us any ball games and that is all that counts in my book.

You hit the nail on the head. Despite what the average fan and broadcasters will tell you, TNew is our best cover guy. Henry takes alot of chances therefore offenses will challenge him and Aaron Glenn is older so he will be tested to see if he still has it. Newman can play the game and coaches and quarterbacks must know about it.

Absolutely correct! That was possibly the biggest mistake of the game.

Newman lost his man, who was in motion...had he made a play there, when it counted, we would have won that game!

Newman is playing solid as is the rest of the defense, but he made a huge mistake that led to a loss.
