Hysterical laughter on my part that Jerry and Stephen Jones didnt jump at the chance to trade Bennett for Bengal's #1 round draft choice.

I just think it's a poor choice of allocation of players. Phillips is legit #2 TE and we all know what Witten is.

There are other positions on this team that are weak. We don't need 3 starting TE's when we are thin at Oline and FS.

We didn't have enough info on Phillips and probably still don't.

Martellus was such an important part of our pass protection that I could see why they would say no at the time.

Great point that will go without being paid attention to. No one, and I mean NO ONE, on this forum knew John Phillips would turn out to be as good as he was.

i agree...we dont need 3 but at the time we didnt know about Phillips and Bennett was on pace to be a monster threat....not saying they were right...just saying i dont blame them for the decision

I said Dallas should have traded him for an equal value pick. 1st rounder is far more than the 2nd rounder they spent on him.

I would take that in a heartbeat right now.

The Bengals pick 55th in the 2nd round.

I would take a 4th rounder and above for the guy right now. Just give us some ammo to move up and draft Earl Thomas.

No, but seriously we could find a tight end through the draft or free agency that could block as well as Martellus, because he's a non-factor in our passing game (that supposedly has to change for him to get better, even though we were the #2 offense in the NFL last year), and he also has occasional bone-headed penalties.

Why do people think we know anything about him in the position Bennett plays?

we have very little to compare the two that isn't apples to oranges.
